seed-train ALL ABOARD THE AUSSIE SEED TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Here's an idea

Why don't we just make a list of the seeds that everyones got.

Then each member can select what variety they want from the seed list and then get them posted out to them.
This saves us sending all the seeds in the post and risk getting them all lost in one go.

So, I've got some Cayanetta, Loco Chillis, Orange Habanero and some Orange Ghost drying. Not really much though.

I've got heaps of pods that are green and should be turning soon...carolina reapers, brain killers, red bhuts, white bhuts, more Orange ghosts (around 50 pods), heaps of Butch T.

I'm not going to contribute much...but maybe I should jump on the second round? If we leave it to late April I should be able to contribute a decent chunk.

Hey Sev, I aint got jack either bro .. but that's what the train is all about ,...helpin out other fellow chilli heads.

Hmmmmm....
Interesting proposition. Kinda takes from the seed train aspect of he train though.... Also, this would mean that each person has to send out half a dozen packs in the mail, which is a lot more expensive than one. I'm not really for this idea, but would be happy to go along with it if everyone else is keen, if it comes to that...

Uh-oh!

An open window and a gust of wind just set my seed-processing operation back a few weeks  :tear:
So that's a bummer, now I have to harvest some new pods -sigh-

How is everyone else going?

Doesn't look like we're getting much action here or over the Tasman, so I suppose this is it!

The planned route as of now is:

- Shorerider (start)
- RaelThomas
- Hotrod64
- pcweirdness
- ThatBlondGuy101
- Sev
- mrwrx
  - Repeat

If anyone has any issues, voice them!

As for a start date, how does after Easter sound? That way the seeds aren't sitting unsupervised in a post office somewhere for the long weekend...

Happy Chilliing!

Well, I'm just about done with my 30+ varieties and may just send them to RaelThomas at the end of this week.

I'm not bothered if the seed train is held up at any particular stop, if members wish to wait until they are ready so be it. However, no need to hold things up if I am ready.

I agree with shorerider, let's get this train fired up & on the road.
Rightio, let's fire up the locomotive!

I'm definitely interested but only have advanced plants from Bunnings with mostly hybrids and some shockingly bad labelling. The two Carolina Reapers from Bunnings have early pods that look nothing like a CR.

It's a fantastic idea and all the best to everyone onboard :)

Thanks for the support, we'll be glad to count you in any time you want :)

My seeds are back on track!

So far I have the following:
- Habanero Red
- Thai Hot
- Ebony Fire
- Jalapeno
- A mix of Carolina Reaper, Ebony Fire, Thai Hot and Jalapeno (These were the ones to get knocked about by the wind)
All OP
I'll add some extra Ebony Fire seeds as it is a great ornamental plant, and thee fruit are great for use fresh, I think it is some sort of Hungarian Black? I managed to isolate a few flower buds before pollination, so guaranteed pure! :)

Also, I should have time to add some Red Cap Mushroom seeds if any one is keen? I've got a few pods that are a couple of weeks off being ripe.

If anyone is wondering, my process is:
1) Let pod ripen on plant, and leave for two-three days after first ripened to ensure complete ripeness
2) Hang pod indoors for about a week to let it dry a bit
3) Remove seeds from pod and sit on paper towel for a few weeks in sunny dry spot inside (avoid full direct sun) (ALSO DON'T PUT NEAR OPEN WINDOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )
4) Once seeds are looking pretty done, transfer to mini muffin cases and put inside egg carton for a couple of weeks
After that, seed are good to store however you wish!

Happy Harvests, TBG

Edit: Just noticed this is my 1,500th post!!!! What a great way to celebrate, sharing the addiction with likeminded individuals.  :metal:

Just a heads up guys, pcweirdness is next in line after me but he has not been signed in since the 21st of March, if he hasn't made contact by the time the train is ready to depart the Hotrod64 station I will have to send it straight through to ThatBlondGuy101 ?
