Haven't seen a thread on this sauce, so I'll kick things off.
Met Tony and Janelle today and they were kind enough to give me a bottle of their 'Yikes' Habanero based sauce (and the delicious smelling 'Strawbz' dessert sauce...).
I kept smelling the aroma, and couldn't pin down what seemed like a really familiar smell? Not a sweet smell as I anticipated either.
I had a teaspoon full, and was immediately in love with it. Typical Habanero punch and an incredible flavour. Not as fruity as expected, but the spices and garlic came through nicely.
I liked the fact that the heat and flavour are so well-balanced. After a minute or so, I realised that what I couldn't put my finger on initially was that it reminded me of a Satay? I love Satay Beef/Vegetables and I'm going to use this in my next one
It'd also be great with other Asian sauces.
They've nailed it (in my opinion) with this one, and well worth trying.
