Well I definitely picked up some good info from that article, I need to look up the specs on the lens I got, it says it's an f/1.8G that article showed a lens from 1929 with an f/1.5. I wish I knew how to use that bong emoji

My wife has been asking for a camera for a long time, I'm glad I waited, they dropped the price another 100 bucks since we went and looked at it a couple months ago

That lens will be fine for you,and everyone with a camera should have one. 50 mm are usually the sharpest lens any company puts out. They all make good ones. That is a DX body with 1.5 crop factor,so your view is going to be 75 and not 50mm.

That light that is reflected was really giving us problems, I see it isn't helping that jar photo at all, on the other hand the ambient Christmas lights on the washer and dryer in the background look pretty sweet.

I do photography and videography as a side hobby.  Currently have a Canon 5D Mark II and getting a 5D Mark IV once my bonus comes in next month.
