"Hakuna Matata"

I'll go the Jon boat... 'cause then I could name it "Jonny's Jon Boat".

Ever stripped and seasoned a cast iron pan?

(got one here I'm gonna have a crack at)

(I'm a bit slow, I know)

Damn, I don't really know. probably my garden beds/veggie patch? thats what comes to mind first...

At what age did you start gardening?

When I first came to THP I was gifted some powdered chocolate scorpion. I tasted it byeating a teaspoon of it straight. Don't know what I was thinking or why, but I'll never do that again. Up untill the the hottest I had had was chayane powder, I guess I thought I was iron mouth.

Have you added powder to fudge yet? A must!

Haha, you must've been having lots of fun that day! As soon as I finish typing this, I'm gonna go do some fudge with powder! I've done chocolate, but not fudge!

Chocolate: Milk, white or dark?

Any and all. Its chocolate dah

I once made a hot sauce with honey dew mellon and mango and used it for fruity pancakes. Ever had a sweet hotsauce?

Sweet hot sauce? Haven't had anything in that line other than sweet chilli sauce, if that counts.

Can you think of any good questions?(cause I sure as hell can't)

Sure. Just make stuff up:

If a genie were to grant you a wish to give you somthing super special or take you somewhere super special what would you ask for?

A bathing suit, a beer, some sashimi, a private beach, lots of time, and friends.

How about you?

Alternate question:

What do you want out of life? Example: A nice little nuclear family with 2.5 kids, a dog, and a house in the country with a white picket fence.

What I want out of life is a house on a decent sized lot, no kids, plenty of dogs, some other animals, and a garden that only gets bigger from one year to the next.  (Thankfully, I already have everything on this list, minus the other animals.  That will have to wait until we find another house on an even bigger property that is zoned for barnyard critters.)

If you had the opportunity to pack up everything you own and move to another country, would you do it, and which country would you move to???

Hell yes! In the Navy i was able to travel the world and experiance life from different perspectives. I certainly would downsize my collective stuff, but Japan would be my destination. The japanese find pease and joy in the simplest of pleasures and take the time to find the beauty in things that Americans have no true respect for. My time in Japan made me stop and smell the roses , if you will, and made me a much better person. I yearn for more of that.

What one moment in your life gave you more dirrection / focus towards who you have become?

That would be a toss up between the day I was handed a yo-yo back in the summer of 2000, and the time in 2012 when my friend let me sample some of the hot sauces in his collection.  Both moments had a really big impact on the direction of my life.  Yo-yoing became an obsession for me for many years, allowing me to do what I love for a living.  But hot sauce (and now hot peppers as well) has had a larger influence on me much more recently, and is the primary reason why gardening is now a big hobby for me.

What about you?

My senior year in college i had an advanced poetry class with a teacher that was retiring that year. One day she pulled me aside and told me that i was ,by far, the best childrens poet she had ever had in one of her classes in all her years of teaching. This statement causrd me to focus my efforts and organize my collection of poetry into a book. I have now sold over 150 copies on my own and have a skill to use in my retirement years.

What famous person, living or gone, would you call your hero/ idol?

For me it would have to be Dr. Suess. The man revolutionalized children's books.

What are you gonna do with your abundance of pods this year?

Cook with them, make preserves/pickles/relishes, and dehydrate the rest to help keep me warm during the long winter.

If you could grow as many pepper plants as you wanted, how many would you grow?

One of each type and variety!
Well over 3,000 last I heard.

If you had a live chicken, your favorite hot pepper and a fire, how long would it take you to process that chicken and cook up a good meal?
