Salmon patties between a country biscuit and smothered in white southern-style gravy will have my vote.

As usual, I have too much work goin' on. Good luck, peeps!

Nice shoit.

Boss...I know you're not my biggest fan (no biggie...just different tastes and all)...but I have a feeling you'll like this one.

Building the "infidel burger"...

On homemade bun...start with romaine lettuce...then a slab of black forest ham...

junetdpig6.jpg

Then 1/2 pound lean pork patty with fresh naga morich from the garden, jalapeno from the garden, green onions, garlic, and some seasoning...

junetdpig7.jpg

Top with flash-fried (in bacon grease) - baby-bella mushrooms, jalapeno, and onion...

junetdpig8.jpg

Freshly shredded pepper jack...

junetdpig9.jpg

Wait a tick for it to melt fromt he damn hot veggies...

junetdpig10.jpg

Top that with center cut peppered bacon...

junetdpig11.jpg

Top that with fresh tomato from the garden...and yes...that bun is stamped with a chile!

LunchBox's Infidel-icious Burger

*Special thanks to USMC8411 for the (far more clever) naming rights to this burger!

Bread: high gluten wheat flour, rye flour, salt, sugar, yeast, parsley, garlic and onion powder, jalapeno, morouga scorpion powder, and tops dusted with Hungarian paprika and butter. Mix...then bake. Chile/pepper stamp made from a coat hanger bent into shape, then stamped into raw dough. FYI...I add a lot less yeast and sugar to any bread recipe I make. I prefer tortillas and pitas...and I rarely eat regular bread...so you can add a normal amount of both to it...I just prefer bread like my wife's jeans...LOW-RISE...lol

Ghost Mustard: Regular prepared yellow mustard, with (powdered) chipotle, bhut jolokia, garlic, onion, black pepper, black chili powder, cumin, Dave's Insanity Ghost Pepper Sauce (the mustard kills the extract taste), and a touch of soy sauce. (this shit is AWESOME...you HAVE to mix this up)

Burger Patty: Lean ground pork, mixed with fresh garlic, jalapeno, naga morich, green onion, sea salt, cracked black pepper, Hungarian paprika.
Cook on grill at the same time as he black forest ham slab.

Cook bacon, save fat. Crank up the heat, and toss in baby-bella mushrooms, jalapeno, and onion. Flash fry until edges crisp.

Top bun with romaine lettuce, grilled black forest ham, then piggie-patty, then fried veggies, then freshly shredded pepper-jack cheese...wait a minute or so for it to melt from the hot ass veggies, add bacon, then tomatos, and finish with bun top. Add mustard, and PIG OUT.

yeah, whatever - we all know that's just a bunch of paprika in a plastic bag you wrong "moruga" on.

Ps - Lunchie is in it to win it - that looks really, really tasty.

LOL...I thought about you when I put the shrooms on, brutha... ;)

After digging out a spoonful of morouga powder (that I dried and powdered last fall)...I dumped it in, and licked the residue off the spoon. I then set off to coughing about the house rather violently. The buns were the damned hottest item on the whole build.

fixed!

hahahaha

just messin with you man. Despite the shrooms, that looks really good. One of the rare occasions I think the rest of the flavors would work enough to overpower them. Mushies aren't as overpowering in a meat dish. Mostly it's the veggie dishes I find the taste to be overpowering. Agree with Scovie - the bar is set and it's not low.

Odd thing.... I happened to overhear a conversation between two people the other day, in which they both claimed they didn't like mushrooms because they are "flavorless". . . . I kinda felt sorry for them; must suck to go through life without being able to taste anything!

LB - That burger is killer!

probably talking about the salad/pizza mushies which are mild, but still have flavor, especially when sauted. Most have a strong flavor - I actually really enjoy straw mushrooms in Chinese food - it's the only mushroom I actively aim for with my fork. I can eat them on pizza too if I have to.

Portabellas, and criminis (baby-bellas) will adopt the flavors you cook them in. If you flash fry those in bacon grease...they taste like bacon, just a bit less salty. Personally, I will NOT eat raw shrooms. But I will hapily devour them cooked; en masse.
