You guys are kickin ASS and schoolin. but I have a PHD in ass-kickkin and schoolin, so.... I want to eat your pessa!
fricken "round" pizza....
mango, spam, taco, hot pepper ingredient, tasty looking...

FATALII DEEP

DOUGH
  • water (about 110 degrees F)
  • active dry yeast
  • sugar
  • all purpose flour
  • semolina flour
  • vegetable oil
  • salt
mix yeast in 110º water with sugar. Let sit till foamy. mix in flour, sugar, oil, salt. Knead dough 5 minutes on floured surface. Put some oil in a big bowl and place the dough inside coating all sides. Cover in plastic wrap and put it on top of the fridge (where its warm) for 2 hours.

SAUCE
  • olive oil
  • chopped fresh garlic
  • chopped fresh basil
  • chopped fresh oregano
  • fennel seeds
  • salt
  • a dash of black pepper (sorry gem)
  • red pepper flakes
  • big can of plum tomatoes, coarsely crushed
  • cabernet sauvignon
  • sugar
Cook to a boil, reduce heat, simmer 30 minutes or until thickened.


MEAT

Sweet Italian Sausage
6 fataliis finely diced
bacon grease

Brown in bacon grease and set aside.

TOPPINGS
  • sliced mozzerella
  • bacon
  • baby portabellas thinly sliced
  • green bell, cut into thin rings
  • yellow onion, cut into thin rings
Cook and choppy chop. Set aside.

THE BUILD

Cast iron was greased with bacon grease and dusted with corn meal, pizza stone just got dusted with corn meal.
Spread dough into two pans and pull up crust on sides.
Stack with sliced mozzarella, onions, peppers, bacon, fatalii sausage, sauce, and fresh parmesan.


Cook at 475º for 30 minutes, remove, and photograph.

Seconded. SoFlo has more in the works. FD's pizza took all the concentration and Busch we could muster.

Got the beer bread cold proofing for that extra flavor.

Diggin deeper still :- late comer to party of toppings- spicy Korean beef in BBQ sauce with cumin,sage, basil,peppercorns, oregano (stuffing mix i made) coriander, garlic, star anis, aniseed, freshly made plum sauce, tabasco, onion and ginger.

It sounds like a heart-stopper, but it really isn't that heavy. I stopped by their place on the way home and had a piece. YUM! It was not greasy or heavy at all. Even with the tater tot, it wasn't totally smothered with cheese, just enough to git 'er done.

Well, it was my first time EVER making pizza at home. And from scratch too. So not expecting a win, just enjoyed the process. Thanks for all the drool friends. Totally fork and knife pizza!

Jeeeebus...there's so much going on in here, it's a full time job keepin' up with it! :mouthonfire: everyone's pizzas look fantastic. I wish we could all get together and do the TD in someone's backyard...like a redneck cook off. (I see some of you already do live by eachother..very cool....I have no chilihead friends...they are all weaklings. :confused: ) So many awesome ideas. I'm going to make some of these, so I can see what's up. If I had enough money I'd recreate all of them before I voted lol.

For my first TD it was a blast making the pizza. Ideas just rush in and take you left and right and back left. (I mean putting fresh lemon zest on top of a pizza...I would have never done that if not for a THP TD. and it was actually awesome. I'm going to have to look them over thoroughly to make a decision. I CAN be bribed ;)

Damn...for a first pizza that looks like the bomb dude. It was my first time too. The crust was the hardest. It tasted good but was a biotch to work with. Great job SS!
