contest BEGIN! Regional/Ethnic Sandwich Throwdown

Ok here is my entry , sorry for the crappy pics but my wife went outta town and took my good camera and I had to but a pos $20 wally world camera just so I could do the throwdown :)

I am making a Florida/minorcan grouper sandwich topped with a habanero/datil guava chutney with a bacon avocado spread on the bread with sweet potato fries (was gonna do yuca fries but couldnt get a hold of yuca in time)

aww man JayT whatcha makin? that cant be a cheesesteak 'cause that aint no Amoroso roll!!! lol j/k (I had to give ya crap about the roll cause Im originally from Philly :P)

Nope not an Amoroso roll. But it is a cheesesteak. This is my take on the Philly Cheesesteak. First you start with a margarita. (see teaser pic) Next pound and chop up some steaks. Usually I would use ribeye, but this is steakhouse sirloin as I couldn't find thinly sliced ribeyes today. Cut the roll and spread butter and garlic on it, then toast in the oven. Next, fry up some onion, jalapeno, red bell, and mushrooms in some butter.

awesome so that means I can prep tonight , make chutney etc.. and hopefully get a better camera tommorow and take new teasers of better quality? for some reason I thought the throwdowns had to be done on the sameday kinda iron chef style, atleast now I got a shot at takeing some tastier looking pics :)
 
Next the steak is cooked in the cast iron, the roll is smothered in melted cheese whiz and Scorpion puree spiked marinara, and the sandwich is assembled.

JayT's Philly Cheeseteak

Ingredients:

Steakhouse sirloin thinly sliced then pounded and cut up
Italian bread spread with butter and garlic then toasted
Fried onion, jalapenos, red bell, and baby bella mushrooms
AJ's Scorpion Puree mixed in with Marinara sauce
Melted Cheese Whiz
Provolone Cheese on top and under the broiler for a minute
Serve with lots of napkins

I like it :) , I like using ribeye too but cant always find it sliced either, almost did a cheesesteak for the throwdown as well, glad I didnt cause' yours looks like its gonna be damn tasty :) nice touch "wit whiz"

Good lookin' sando JayT! Very good. Real cheesesteaks can't be found out here. Like the double up on the cheeses and shrooms.
