Do any of you guys own growlers?

Do they keep the beer at least somewhat fresh?  I was thinking of buying one so that I could try some of the beer that some local growler places have on tap.
I have four of the flip top style growlers. They work well. Sometimes I bottle carbonate beer in them, when I know I'm going to go to parties, a few weeks in advance. Great way to share beer, aside from kegs of course.

At the brewery I get them they use a pressurized system so before you crack it open for the first time, it's like a bottled beer. Consume within a few days after opening and still good. I'm not sure if all places pressurize.

Lets you try so many beers especially if you live by breweries.

Since it holds 4 pints it's gone in a day, or 2 most. Don;t think I've gone 3. But my IPAs have stood up to the brewery ones no prob. Haven't gone for stout, I don't think I'd consume it fast enuf. I like an occasional one.

Maybe I'll get a 32 for stouts.

Mine's a half-gallon ... I drink it within 48 hrs or so, no biggie ...

it's time after oxygen ... no so much time before starting to drink ...

2-3 days it starts to go flat. But great to bring home.

I stick a 1' piece of racking cane into my tapper and turn the pressure down when I fill out of my keg. Works great to take beer to go.

I love this sh*t.
