How was the vanilla stout?

Went to the Woolly for early supper yesterday.  ( actually late breakfast for me  ;) )

They have a  good selection on their 26 taps.   Aside from the kombucha I think there is 4 I haven't tried yet.

My wife went off menu and got  them to throw some crispy pork belly on her burger. I told her she was crazy not to do cheese on it too.

I had the Pork Belly Rueben and Garlic Mashed.

First flight was

StoneHammer Firebreather.  Blackened Pilsner.   Highlight of the whole meal.. Awesome beer. https://untappd.com/b/stonehammer-brewing-firebreather-blackened-pilsner/2287865
The brewery rebranded  to stonehammer( their best selling product)  from F&M after a change in ownership a few years ago but they still know how to do these styles of beer better than anyone around due to  their Equipment , they small batch fire brew in copper kettles.
(the Maclean's Luck and Charm is the M in F&M actually which he opened after the sale. I wouldn't be suprised if he helped them with the recipe on this one)

Bellwoods Jutsu
Nice NEPA.  I know some people who go crazy for it but I just thought it was a solid  without being spectacular.
Small glass and light don't do it justice in the picture though, in a pint glass it looks like Orange Juice.

Tooth & Nail SuckerPunch IIPA

disappointed in this one.  Very insipid for a IIPA

Garage D'or Ghost Cherry

Cider  with cherries aged for 1 year in Chardonnay barrel

good cider but not as good as the hailstorm I had in the second flight

Second flight

Garage D'or Hailstorm

Golden Plum Cider on Cask.

Hands down the best Cider I have ever tasted.

Welly Bewitched Belgian IPA

Solid beer like always from Welly , but they have quite a few others that are better imo

Maclean's Luck and Charm Oatmeal Stout

I was expecting to love this but not so much. It might be the order of the flights or having tasted that crazy good blackened Pilsner earlier but it had a pretty acrid burnt after taste.  Definitely worth retry on its own at some point.

Welly Garden Saison

well made beer for the style but the spice notes were somehow off putting to me.  again might just be the order in the flight after the oatmeal stout.

That's looking pretty juicy there, Mike!
Looking down into the can (and while it's pouring) it looks exactly like pineapple juice

Never had it, but I had it's "cousin," I was told, called "Alter Ego." That was way, way back in my youth when I didn't respect Froot Loop beers....... like 3 months ago

Seriously though, this is definitely the "booziest" IPA I've ever had, and it's only 8%

(Haven't read any of that yet ^ )
