I agree that the vanilla-like notes prevalent in flavored extract beers and poorly barrel-aged beers is not tasty ...
 
I know the taste of throwing a split bean in the fermenter is brilliant.
Soon we'll talk about which vanilla - Madagascar, Mexican-style, Tahitian etc ...
 
It's one of the first split batch experiments I'll do.

Hands down, Madagacar without a friggen doubt, no and's, ifs, or butts.

Those vague citrus notes ... not vague at double-strength.
 
Highly recommend at least a single double-cuppa from each bag (of single-origin) ...
