beer Being Crafty

Man oh man, this is one of THE best sours I've had. The oak from the 18 months of barrel aging, the epic base malt, the mouthfeel, and the sour cherry finish to round it all out. Friggin AMAZING!

Yeah, man! Actually, it's just a cord. Split, seasoned, hardwood, delivered for $200. I thought that was a damn good price, especially for hardwood! That fire pit is just one of those metal "bowl" ones from the big box store. Tore down the kids' (rotting) swingset/playscape thing, and I'm gonna dig a real pit, if this stupid rain ever stops. Probably gonna go 6' in diameter and 3 blocks high with retaining wall blocks. I'm pumped about that :party: Wife is turning 40 in a couple of weeks, so I'm throwing her a huge party on Memorial Day weekend :)
Expecting about 100 people :shocked:

One of my all time favorite Belgians. I haven't been able to score a bottle of this since December, and I finally scored one today

"Every year on the 24th of February, we celebrate the birth of Charles Quint. Therefore we brew a special beer in limited edition called Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Imperial Dark (Grand Cru of the Emperor).

This exceptional ale ages well, developing a refined complexity and intense aromas. With powerful notes of roasted malts, caramel and plums, its surprisingly soft and fruity aroma combines a warm roundness with a refreshing taste.

It is imperially crowned with a cork so it can be preserved for a long period of time at a constant cellar temperature of 12° C (54°F). An imperial beer to cherish and enjoy in moderation."

I stopped by Parish brewing this morning and picked up a new version of Envie and a growler filled with Ghost in the Machine.
From the website:
Dry hopped with different hops every batch. We use exactly twice the amount of hops that are in our original Envie recipe.

I can't describe beer like you pros but it's a milder piney taste with a little bitterness at the end and makes you want another drink, totally crushable and could be dangerous. I'll have to kill that 4 pack to give a better review, maybe. Happy Friday Pharkers!  :cheers:
