Bodeen's 2012 Grow Log - THE END!!!!!

Anxious to get dirt under my nails, so I might as well start this thing off.

Got an unfinished basement that is mainly storage. It has an old 1957 bathroom in it. I tore that out today and will be using that as my grow room as soon as I get it done. It is small enough a small heater will keep my temps in check. (Pictures of progress will come once I get it looking better lol)

Last year I built a grow table and this year I am putting up a shelving unit with grow lights on many of the shelves.

My one garden area that will be expanded on this year I believe. 40x30

My other garden which is longer, but not as wide.

Then I put this row in last year and my thoughts we strawberries, but it might be a row of peppers.

My motto is Rabbit eats garden, Gardener eats rabbit. They are the reason I have to fence the gardens

I also plan on doing some peppers in pots this year.

My tray of peppers last year went 71 out of 72 popped. Hope I can get these results this year.

Thanks. Tomatoes are starting to pop up too. Be nice to get the peppers out in the garden, but its about 2 months early for last frost, but this year is odd to say the least here in Indiana.

Another yellow bhut came up. It's a shame that none of the chocolates germinated for me though. I guess there is always next year for them. I still have a ton of new peppers to try this year.

Got some yellowing leaves after the repot. Could this be too much water as I did soak them down well for the repot. That is about the only thing I can think of, unless its shock of the repot that is causing it.

Do you use a 'transplanter' of any kind? Like B-1 or something similar?

Had some repotting issues. One, didn't feed them when repotting, and B, I didn't pot them up in a big enough pot. Rookie mistake that I shouldn't be making. Hope they come out of it okay. Getting the itch to stick these babies in the ground.

Getting plants in the ground cures a lot of ills!
Good luck getting the spring plant out underway.

Got from a what turns out to be a cousin lol. Triaxle load of dirt that was so big, I had to put some on the other garden to pep it up some. Called it virgin dirt, so I know I am going to have to hit it with some wood ashes and such to smooth out the flavor.

Decided to take some pepper porn today. Actually got some tomato porn at the end for anyone that perverse :)

On a sad note, I lost a yellow bhut that came up. One of the very few times I have ever lost a pepper once it was out of the ground.

Potting up again. This does not include the two trays that are being potted up currently.

Really liking the looks of the bhuts. Those plants are looking really nice. Can't wait to start to get some fruit, and I am about a month from planting these outside.

Here is one of my Yellow Thai.

I got more pepper porn, but I am limited to how much I can post. Changed the dirt on these guys and potted them up again and they really took off. The Miracle Grow is probably why they are getting lanky on me, but I was worried about the yellowing I was getting and they were starving. Excited to see them in the dirt and putting on pods.

This cold weather is starting to put a crimp in my grow room. I am running 6 four foot twin light fixtures, one per shelf, a 4 foot grow table with two 4-foot twin fixtures, and a 2 foot grow table with 2 two-foot twin fixtures, and I am needing to install one more light on a vacant shelf. I have plants ranging from 6 inches tall up to almost 2 feet tall ATM.

In a typical year they would be in the ground in two weeks. I am hoping the weather straightens out so this can happen. Already started hardening them off in the room by cutting back on the heat more and more. They still need to get used to the sun and the wind, but hopefully this will aid them some.

The peruvian serlano are looking really nice. Love the leaves on this pepper.
