bonchi grow log (everyone can post)

this is the grow log for the bonchi challenge. i am trying to limit the rules down to a few. IF YOU ARE NOT FROM THE US YOU CAN STILL BE A PART OF IT YOU JUST WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE THANK YOU.

RULES.
1. everyone entered must have a seperate variety of plant. meaning if two people want to both enter a bhut jolokia. an agreement must be reached to where one person must choose a different type. if an agreement cant be reached the person who was first to reserve that plant gets to have that variety.
2. you must reserve your plant(s) on this thread asap.
3. limit of two different varieties can be reserved.
4. you must have 3 photos uploaded before or on the day of the end of the contest. one photo showing height of plant. another showing the canopy of plant. one more photo of your choice showing your plants best feature or a really nice photo.
5. your plant must be 2ft. at max. height including pot.
7. if you decide to fuse or graft your bonchi there is still a two variety limit so you must graft either the two varieties together or you can graft multiples of the same variety together.
6. your bonchi can be any type of pepper. wild, super-hot, rare, mild etc.
8. all three photos must be submitted to this thread by MONDAY, DECEMBER 16TH 2013. That should give you enough time to grow, cut down, then regrow as a bonchi.

I would like to reserve my two varieties now sepia serpent and 7pot primo http://thehotpepper.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/fireball.gif

goodluck everyone and feel free to post other bonchi experiments in here just note that those are not the contenders

That looks great stupidjerk, well done.
Thanks Poy! I find it interesting how much thicker the two stems are above the knot vs below. I'm wondering what it will look like as it continues to grow.

Hope i can still keep up but i mean its going to be chopped anyways...
Good luck to you all!

Very small plant there compared to mine but its looking good ;)
I am going to cut back to bonchi in maybe 1 month, i really think a thick stem is important and its way faster growing a thick stem when the plant is big
When did you cut back your plant and when did you plant it? Has it had fruit?

I know there is a thread I posted in that has the plant date of this one but I don't know. I cut it back maybe 2 weeks ago and no fruit yet. I mostly cut it back so I can have it looking good and fruiting by picture time. I'm going for the thin stem look. I was going to go thick stem but I saw a big tree in real life that is inspiring the look of this

My sticks are starting to bust out some leaves again.  :)

Yellow Brainstrain starting to show some life.

The only one that seems to be lagging behind is my white bullet habanero.  There are a few little buds so hopefully it pulls through.  That one should be an easy bonchii to make due to the growth habits.

About to purchase some pots, moss spores, and fertilizers to speed things up a bit. should be able to bonsai about 10 more plants to make it easier on me to take care of them and so I should be able to bump my plant numbers up a bit. Will you guys be adding moss or no? Want me to extend the deadline to later?

I will change this over to just a bonchi grow I actually forgot about this most of the contestants arent active on the forum anymore. I just let me my plants grow back but I will be cutting it back again.

I'll kick this back off...since now it is just a group Bonchi glog...right???

I've had one going for a bit and just started several more...here are the pics.

Here it is again with 3 more candidates. Two on the left are Centennials two on the right are Explosive Embers...I will lop that other tall branch off the one already Bonchi'd out once I get some good growth on the other three branches.

Awesome thread guys. Following. I've been planning to do a bonchi with a Cumari do Para and finally have some sprouts. So, hopefully in the fall I'll have something to work with! This'll be a great resource.

It'd be pretty cool to do a twist with a Cumari do Para and some sort of Tepin to make a short little tree that throws both red and yellow pods. Hmm... Might need to get my hands on some Tepin seeds now!

Also, that pic of the tree a page or three back that is double-knotted is freaking crazy. I'm off to google-find some more cool pics. Keep up the good work peeps!
