Capsidadburn 2014

Here we go again.  Seems like it was only yesterday.  I've recieved a lot of pods and seeds from great folks here.  THP and those folks are awesome!   I'll be growing most all of them as well as an order I just placed yesterday with Semillas.

I will seriously have to alter my logistics and layout to grow everything and keep it as asthetic but affordable as possible.  Big problems;  I need to trim my front yard trees to get more morning and mid day sun in the back.  I really need to haul in new soil.  Hello wheelbarrow and backpain.  My city is currently in a stage 2 drought restrictions (once a week watering).  I usually water with drip irrigation everyother day until summer forces me to each day.  Barrel collection (which I've been tinkering with for a while) will have to happen.

Here is my list in no particular order.  Seeds and or Fresh pods from; Pepperlover/ Judy, GAGrowhead/Jason, Windchicken/Gary, Sawyer/John, Spicegeist/Charles  Meatfreak/ Stefan, PIC 1/ Greg  Thanks to all!

Great to see you having good success at the early stages, Mike.
The starts look like the leaves were buffed with q-tips!
The leaf polish elves did a great job!  Thanks Paul

Awesome start to the season, Mike.  Looking at all these lists and new plants has me chompin' at the bit.
Time to get going John!  I placed an order with Baker Creek this morning. A smattering of stuff and some for my Daughter.
I will Scott.  I took those at lunch time outside on top of my dishwaher on the front porch!

Nice list and great looking plants! :P
Thank you very much!  Glad you stopped by!

Mike
Some sprouts from John, (Sawyer) 7 Pot Burgundy and MOA S. B. are up.  I germed them first.

Decided to recycle these old kitchen cabinets for my ferments in the garage.  Ferments were to tall so a little jig saw clearance added.  Room for woozie's and jars on top.  Just need a deep freeze and a fridge and the spiceman cave will be complete!  My seedlings listen to radio all day.  Livin' the life!

I recieve this gift today from a friend.  Will share them with my coworkers tomorrow!

Later folks!

Mike

Glad to see more are still popping, I think I have about 50 I'm waiting on.

Like the reuse of the cabinets, I did the same in the shop, just couldn't toss em.

Enjoy the week, it's gonna be nice for a few days!

wow srircha candy cane...and babiesssss.....those ferments looks so good
I took those to work and forgot to try one.  No kitchen to finish the ferments is tough.  Maybe by the end of the month.

Nice workover on the shelf unit, Mike!  Should serve you well.
It's nice to have a dedicated space for your ferments!
I agree completely Paul.  They were on the floor in the pantry before.

:woohoo: on the sprouts.
Thanks again for the seeds John!

Here is a 7 Pot Chiguanas seedling.  Nice display

A Congo Black fresh transplant

This is a Brown Moruga Scorpion germinated from seed in Judy's free dried flakes sample.

A tray of 7 Pot Jonah

I'll be back after we go out for food.

Siracha candycanes huh?!? Sounds like fun!

PM me whenever about that cross. In all reality, there are so many crosses floating around that it is hard to have something new as far as cross, but the best part of growing out crosses is we could have the same parents and way different offspring.

Wow, beautiful starts and excellent photography Mike! And 16 Pequins...NICE!

Yes, you are correct, romy6 is the originator of the NagaBrain.

Your grow is inspiring--I can't wait to get started myself. Did you germinate in those containers? I don't want to use Jiffy trays any more, and I've been thinking about using small nursery containers like those....

Matt, mainly I was hoping I could send you some fresh pods later this season for comparison on something I think you sampled in 2010 and I saw it on your grow list for this season.  Billyboy Douglah.  I'll explain more in the pm.  I wanted to include some pics that might take me awhile to find.

Thanks Gary!  I did a lot of deseeding outside in October of fresh pods and had some of those containers 3x3's nearby.  I wanted to see if they would start on their own outdoors.
7 Pot Chiguanas, Yellow Bhut, Yellow Moruga Scorpion, Bubble Gum 7 Pod, Datil, Texas Pequin, T. S. Sunrise, and BOC all started out that way.

It's great to inspire and be inspired by others.  I've got some exciting ideas in my head right now.  Some will cost more than others.

A lot of you know that I've built a lot of hardware that has landed on the surface of Mars.  I think a lot of you know that we homeschool our kids too.  Austin has a huge homeschool community.  I've always wanted to, out of curiosity and fun, create a mars simulant soil and some of the conditions and play with germinating various veggies and eventually do that in a CoOp class with the kids.  Add in some documentation.  I have a lot of the ingredients already so I only need motivation.

I'm thinking it over.

Good evening to all!

Tray of Jonahs. Not playing around I see!
Early 2013 my first ferment had Jonah and Datil in it.  It was exciting and fun, everybody loved it.   I've got a tray of Datil too that came from your pods!

Beautiful plants Mike!

Hope you're enjoying this brief warm spell, I know I am!

Didn't know you machined parts for the Mars expedition, now that's cool!

Weekends almost here!

Jonahs and datils sound delicious together. I really enjoyed the datils. Wanting to get a couple more going for sure this year, versus the two I had.
Glad everything is rocking!
They were Jason!  Nice unique flavor and great heat on the Datil's for sure.  I'll make sure and save you a bottle, (later 2014).

The warmth is great Scott, the reason we moved here.  Now if we can just cope with the Texas hole in the ozone summer!

I'll pm you a few images of parts Scott.

Got some more babies popping up!
Cumari do Para, what good is the season without one?  Nice blurry pic.

Chintexle from Charles/ Spicegeist master of the cross.

Finally, what may be my first ever creation. (Don't have a lot of faith in my ability).  Two of my favorite peppers.
Tepin X  Quintisho

More pics this weekend.

Excellant weekend all!
