Capsidadburn 2014

Here we go again.  Seems like it was only yesterday.  I've recieved a lot of pods and seeds from great folks here.  THP and those folks are awesome!   I'll be growing most all of them as well as an order I just placed yesterday with Semillas.

I will seriously have to alter my logistics and layout to grow everything and keep it as asthetic but affordable as possible.  Big problems;  I need to trim my front yard trees to get more morning and mid day sun in the back.  I really need to haul in new soil.  Hello wheelbarrow and backpain.  My city is currently in a stage 2 drought restrictions (once a week watering).  I usually water with drip irrigation everyother day until summer forces me to each day.  Barrel collection (which I've been tinkering with for a while) will have to happen.

Here is my list in no particular order.  Seeds and or Fresh pods from; Pepperlover/ Judy, GAGrowhead/Jason, Windchicken/Gary, Sawyer/John, Spicegeist/Charles  Meatfreak/ Stefan, PIC 1/ Greg  Thanks to all!

Great pics Mike!
Me too Scott!  Still popping here.

I got my Semillas order from Peter on New Years Eve.  Gave them a little presoak and sowed today.

Some of the Texas Pequins from Gary.  They are ready to climb!

One of Charles crosses with light tan.  plant tag should read Sonoran Chiltepin  x 7 Pot Barrackpore

Welcome to the jungle! Chintexle

A little morning garage window medicine

Still working on our kitchen.  No sauce making. Lots of paper plate microwave and take out.

Happy New Year THP!

Mike

Mike you have a lot of awesomeness going on in here! Seedlings and sauces oh my!

That is really cool about working on equipment that has gone to Mars and even more so about the soil simulation. I see that you are a machinist but do you do any design work too?

Glad those seeds made it!
Me too Jason!  Thanks for your help and encouragement.

Plants are looking well taken care of and happy Mike!

Speaking of happy, Happy New Year!
Thank you Scott!  I always feel like I could be doing a much better job though.  I love the discipline, pride, and craftsmanship I've seen in some other glogs here.  A little embarrassed sometimes.  I put that effort into my work ethic but it doesn't always follow me home sadly.

Thank you very much Caps!  I have been formally trained in Solidworks 3D modeling.  I've been using it since 2007.  After 30 years or so professionally you pick up a lot along the way.   My childhood playground was my father's Tool & Die shop also.  At some point they will make me exclusive to design.

I love making the sauces!  Started making ferments last year because of  Rocketmans fermentation thread.  There are far better pics of my sauces from last years glog.  Pages 11,12,13,15, and 17 all have detailed quality pics.  Here's a link to page 17;

I like the purple stem on the tepin cross. Can't wait to see what the plant looks like as he gets a little bigger. It looks like the true leaves ebb toward the longish side.
They don't all have that coloration.  I think it just got a little to much light.  Spicegeist made this cross and there are pics of it in his 2013 glog.  This is page 6 of his glog.  Look at post#119.

Got your package, as you predicted, today!
Thanks Mike! Stoked on the EOBs and the background info is awesome! Can't forget the added bonus! Thanks again!
:D
Good to hear Jason!  I've had good germination from those.  Probably 80% or better.  Thanks for the help.

Decided to pot up a Yellow Moruga Scorpion today.  I've had a smart pot someone gave me a couple years back I never used.  I'm going to leave it in my germination area for a while.

My sad Papaya's are yearning for warmer days.  They keep flirting with making blooms.  Note:  Next house needs indoor attrium skylights!

Later folks!

That papaya is serious!
Thanks Jason!  It's 3 or 4 years old started from seed.  One of the few non GMO's left.  Solo Sunrise.  If I ever get some fruit I'll be pleased.
I knocked off a bloom the other day moving it around.  It was outside over a 45 degree night and the bloom must not have liked that as it fell off easy.  I keep trying!

Amazing plants. Hope your papayas go for it!
Thank you Adam, I hope so too!

Thanks Jeff!  I'll do my best to keep it interesting.

Here's a few more back porch pics.  Very soon I will start filling this room with new plants.  One gallon pot ups.  Our cats sleep in what amounts to a cardboard box of saw blades and drip irrigation plumbing supplies.

Meyer Lemons about to bloom.  These had awesome blooms last year but I guess I moved it out to soon cause they fell.  I'll be checking when I moved it out last year.

Found this guy digging the sun and fungus gnats I hope

Have a great weekend folks!

Diggin the shots of the lizard, fine with me as long as he leaves the seedlings alone right....
He found his way into my garage to escape the colder winter days.  I can share space with him!

GA Growhead said:
He is definitely eyeing you! I like our little reptile friends.
We may best buddies by the time winter is over!

Is that an anole or?
Great photo!

I love your sun porch;
Who needs a greenhouse?
It is an anole Paul.  There is so much junk in my garage it makes quite an attractive nest.  My backporch is one of those long term projects that I'm not finished with.  It faces North though.  I get a little  morning sun on the east side and heavy afternoon sun on the west.  Plants seem to like it, but I still yearn for a greenhouse!

Potting up more seedlings to 3 x 3's today.  Might do some one gallons.  The yellow Moruga in the smart pot is shifting gears happy.

+1 on the sun room, looks great!

And the lizards are keepers. They were in the garden big time this season, always busy.

Stay warm!
