food Carnitas sushi rolls- BAM!!!

Lol, probably be a few tacos, then vac seal the rest for meals. Since i'm always at work now something easy for wifey to heat up.

Fresh out the smoker

Nothing beats the smell of roasted pablanos

One these days I will have enough time to smoke a pork loin all the way until finish ... not today though. Family likes to eat no later than 6oclock

Roasted a orange pepper too. Doesn't smell as heavenly as the pablano but will give a little color to the rolls.

Let's see, it's about 12 hours from here to LA from memory, so with connecting flights I can be there in time for left over dinners I think…. see you soon…..

Carnitas are sacred here
Im sure your efforts were tasty but,one should never desecrate Carnitas
with celebration and fan fair :)

Meat all shredded

Stopped at 4 stores and no one had sushi mats so had to use the wet kitchen towel method- (not that i've used any method before)

Rice was plenty sticky. I made cilantro lime rice my normal way then folded in some rice wine vinegar that had sugar and salt dissolved into it. lined with peppers, cucumber, avocado

Some meat

First roll down, not too shabby

rice on the outside was a little harder but still turned out good and they stayed together while I ate.

Mayo on the inside

All 3

We didn't have any chopsticks so I used kabob stakes lol

Crunchy rolls, one on left with sriracha mayo inside, crunch out with some JHP smoked thai powder. Middle roll a little loose, oops. Right is lots of spicy mayo inside

Makes the willy hard

Lunch packed, also brought some meat n tortillas for a few tacos as well.

I had completly forgot I made pickled red onions until everything was getting cleaned up... would have been really good in there too  :tear:

Enough meat for two more dinners

Lol my rolls must suck,

I thought they was good though honestly I could of left the meat out all together and they probably would have tasted the same. Still better than i've had at some sushi places though. Next time I will just use veggies or maybe some pruchuto ontop.

I'd say you knocked it out of the park. Well done!

What is pruchuto?

my horrible misspelling of that cured meat that's cut thin... spell check didn't even know what I was trying to say lol.

Ahhh I thought that was what it might of meant, but didn't associate it with sushi rolls. But prosciutto is kinda like bacon....makes everything better. Really nice job on those. Is the rolling difficult?

With the plastic wrap and towel it was a little tricky but with a mat it would of probably been a lot easier.

Chingon!

These days I only eat rice when at mrs. blues favorite sushi joint.

Onliest 'thang is I would have doubled down on the porkage and halved the rice.

But you should know me by now....

I'd have mao mao'd that like I had my head up the teachers skirt.

Wow sushi with cheddar...

It's very bizarr, Ohh Yeah, i dont like this. X3 Wasabi  for me.... Wait!... and soy please :P

No cheese on my sushi and I hate cheddar , maybe that was the orange pepper you was seeing? the soy sauce was good, had smoked pequin powder, smoked thai powder, lime juice and rice wine, boiled it for a min and was perfect.

the rolls I rolled in panko crust I dusted with some the smoked thai powder as well.

Sorry, I think that cheese or mayo I seen

Oh it was probably the sriracha mayo then. Stuff is really good. Staple in some american sushi as well. Does kind of look like spray cheese from a can in the pic.

I reckon sushi and cheese are not a good match but...

You hate cheddar?

That's gotta' be rayciss n' sheeit.

I take that last comment back.

I don't want to instigate rioting and looting over cheese.
