Surprised they recommend the spin grinder (Krups Fast-Touch Coffee Mill, Model 203)
A lady I gave my beans too didnt like them because she says their bitter, used my Burr grinder and made her coffee and no more bitterness and she like it.

"But our self-imposed price cap of $50 did allow us to include several low-end burr grinders (a fancier type of machine that works like a motorized pepper mill)."

They were probably only using non-ceramic burr at that price range, which would negate the benefits of being a burr grinder, somewhat anyways ...

These are the ones I use... just basic and wonderful.

A little update on the honey processed coffee I mentioned earlier in the thread. I am not overly impressed with it. I is really smooth but lacks in the taste dept. My favorite to date is Runner's High from Just Coffee Co Op.

I have this one: http://amzn.com/B001804CLY

... and at the office (which I haven't been to in 18 months): http://amzn.com/B0043095WW
those are some sic grinders. I have a much cheaper one that has worked great for several years and another one just like it I use for spices and dried peppers.

I also just ordered this coffee which sounds great. I can't wait to roast some of it.

My sister brought me back some 100 % Kona  from Hawaii.

followed my normal pour over method

Used a V 60 Hario dripper, spring water at 189 f , 25 g fresh grounds , bloomed for 40 seconds with 45 g water , 355 g total water.   slow pour over for total 3 min drip time ( I have dailed in grind size on my burr grinder over time to make it finish at around the 3 min mark. stop pouring sometime around 2:20. )

Good Coffee  without doubt but not the best for my tastes. This is actually a good thing, as I somewhat was dreading loving it, as it is 100 $ plus a lb, probably more if I had to source it here.

A nice cup, I'm sure ... but not life changing ...

I totally know the feeling ...

I felt the same way about the kopi luwak from Doi Chang ...

I just ordered a kona blend so that I can roast and enjoy some of the marvelous coffee. It sounds like you have the brewing method down to a tee.
