Concert's... Hell yeah!

Woohoo!! Heeellll Yeah!! Mrs. Blues just called to inform me she got us two tickets to see his badness hissef', Rev. Billy G and ZZ Top coheadlining with Aerosmith at the MGM Grand here in Vegas in July. I've had a dozen shots at going to see The Rev but it never panned out. Last show I saw was Chris Cornell at the Palms last year. This one should be badass! "Ladies and gentleman...the fantastic...ZEE....ZEE....Top!!!"

What show's have ya'll seen lately?

Cheers, TB.

the last concert i went to was Radiohead...

it was fantastic as usuall...

next is going to be Depeche Mode in June...

The Gourds!!!! That was the last show I saw, and they are the only band that makes me dance when I'm not that drunk. Before that, I saw Unknown Hinson. Sexism never shredded so hard!

Live music is the lifeblood of the human experience. Drink deep the essence of the Reverend! Even though his gear talk in those guitar player interviews is usually madeup shite, can you argue with a man who achieves tone as fat as his? I think not.

You don't have to worry.... Cause takin care of business is his name....

RAGE!!!!!

I went and saw my favorite local group here called The Vodkanauts last friday night.....a couple of my friends in NJ went to the bar i used to hang out at and saw The Meatmen. I was highly jealous of them. I haven't been to a large show in years.....i just can't deal with ticket prices nowadays, although i came really damn close to dropping $180 for tix to see the Police last summer.

Billy has always been rather elusive and tongue in cheek when it comes to his gear and rig. Everything seems to center around the tone of his '59 Burst, aka Pearly Gates. Nowadays even the Gretsch Billy Bo's are eq'd heavily to dupe that sound. He's been known to run dummy amps ala Crate Palomino's onstage, while under the stage he's got a 50w Plexi barkin' it out. Last I heard he was also using a pair of Zvex Nano's with a bank of 5 to 7 Bixonic Expandora pedals. No matter what the setup though, he always sounds just like The Rev. Hot, blue and righteous.

Cheers, TB.

Last show...Aerosmith...show before that...Aerosmith...show before that...Black Crowes...

goin to 3 this year. Jonas Brothers in August ( taking my daughter for her birthday ), Aerosmith ( for the 11th time ) and ZZ Top In September, and Metallica in October.

I haven't been to one since a teenager, I saw Bryan Adams at Wembley and I once saw a group called Little Angels(?) it was my brother's taste at the time.

not the last but the best I ever saw was...Rockingham, NC, 1973

Bloodrock
Fleetwood Mac
Savoy Brown
James Gang
Three Dog Night
Alice Cooper
John Baldry

Music started at noon and ended 14 hours later at 2am...

Toronto 1979 125,000 people full day show

Goddo
Moxy
Ramones
Johnny Winter
Nazareth
Ted Nugent
Aerosmith

Highlight - Nugent playing Milk Cow Blues with Aerosmith during their encore.

Lowlight - stupid fans pelting the Ramones with garbage. Played 5 songs I think before bailing. One of my favourite bands at the time.

Small show was a Johnny Cash cover band -- I like his stuff and rock a billy stuff now a days but the last big one I saw was Roger Waters --

Haven't been to any shows in a while.. used to go to a lot of metal shows down in FL. Don't really know where to go for shows around here yet. Here are a few random photos I took at some shows..

I've seen a ton of concerts over the years, and I sat down one time and listed the top 5 bands I wanted to see but never did. Bauhaus is one of them. Queen, Killing Joke, Stone Temple Pilots and The Clash are the others.

I saw Killing Joke way back in '87 at the Jones Beach Theater. The music was awesome, but they were kind of, well, how to put this nicely or more correctly......well, i guess the best way to describe their stage presence would be "gay". Don't ask, you just had to be there.
