craft beer

Living here in Colorado is a wonderful thing when it comes to craft beer. Especially because all the breweries here make a lot more flavors they only serve at their breweries and not in the stores. So you figure with over 200 breweries that is a lot of beer to choose from. I lost count at around 600 so who knows.

They have several drinkables, but far to many "fruit swill" style brews
Did the plant tour last year, had a few good ones then it quickly turned to shit as the fruit just never ended
Only the 3rd bad brewery experience Ive ever had, after 37 brewery visits not a bad percentage LOL :)

Sounds more like you don't like sours ... which is fine, I don't love them either ... or, at least, I only like a narrow selection of them, but those are good ...

Came home to an awesome suprise. Thanks D3monic. They are in the fridge and I will get to one of them later tonight.

That GH was good shit. I mean, I'm definitely brewing something along those lines in the coming weeks, from having it ...

Nice!  I have not seen any of these locally, so that is an added bonus.

I am not a huge fan of sours, but I have a soft spot for the Dutchess and some really good imported bleu cheese.
Also tctenten always liked three floyds stuff so I will look for that.

Yea they are  only available in Indiana and select Chicago land areas. Something something limited quantities something. They have a large selection but only ship a couple to local stores. Rest have to be bought inhouse and the stores never know what they are sending them.

Really digging the Gumballhead. I remember you looking for a clone recipe, did you ever find one? I would put this on brew list.

It's a beer made w/ a base malt and a wheat addition, with a lot of amarillo I think Wheebz said ...

I believe I posted a recipe from Stan Hieronymus ... and while it might not be how GH is actually made at the brewery, I would brew his with confidence ...

Dude is super-duper anal ...

What I see when I look at that:

1) We can find out what their house pale ale culture is by Gooling, likely from ProBrewer or HBT or Aussie HBF ... and quasi-verify it by the attenuation given.
2) I pick-up on the 70F, which looks like they are driving some esters from the ale yeast, probably purposefully to fill in the layers because it's a elegently clever, yet simple, beer ... execution will be important on that one.
3) We have to find out what the significance of "red" wheat is ... to see if it seems like it will matter or not ...
4) We can reverse the IBU's and OG in Beersmith to come up w/ the total grist and as a constraint in our hopping schedule ...
5) We can Google for interviews, where tidbits of info are usually provided ... and if you spend enough time watching enough of them, you can piece it together (if they haven't already on HBT or Aussie HBF) ...
6) ASK WHEEBZ ...
