Alrighty folks! It's almost plant out time and that means that my basement and lights are going to be freed up for some crossing projects through the summer.

I have 4 DWC buckets available for growing peppers indoors all summer. (not to mention racks for seedling growout)
2 spots are already taken by White Fatalii and CGN-21500.

These Plants will be the Base for all my other crosses. Meaning that I will use pollen from plants that are outdoors in the rest of my collection crossed with these. These will be tagged and harvested and grown out in the basement to choose phenos. I'm planning on going for taste more than heat.

Plants to choose from

My biggest focus will be crossing the White Fatalii with CGN-21500 but will do plenty of other crosses with them as well.

Once the poll is complete Thursday night- the two winning plants will be moved to the hydro system and this thread will serve as my grow log for this project.

Y'all are more than welcome to offer suggestions as to what you would like to see crossed with what as well. I'm sure I will be sharing seeds with most of you at some point (prolly F2? maybe some F1's)

Lol can spam as often as you like, awesome on the ripening, about how big are they? Look like they are bigger than the inca berries where

Hey I would say they'd be about 30-40mm long so roughly 1 1/4" to 1 3/4". I have a couple of mates who are coming in 2 weeks to do a taste test so will put up a youtube link once we're done. Should be interesting.

Very nice, you may have already said. If so forgive me but how many you going to grow out? There shouldn't be much variation in f1 so shouldn't really need more than one or two unless you just want several for pods

I was thinking about growing out two, and picking the best looking of the six when they get a little bigger. If it's okay with you, I can ask some of the guys at work if they want to grow one. If so I'll make sure it has your name and plant name on it. If not, I won't ask them. A couple co-workers are planning to grow some of my extras, so they might be interested.

Here's my little organizer. Have my pollen (paint) brushes, marker, butter fly tags, pollen spreadsheet and on the right side there's usually a cross spreadsheet too that I use for keeping track of the crosses. I'll assign a letter and number to the tag that I can reference to the sheet. Like A1 or so on. I started with just letters but worked my way through the alphabet so had to start assigning numbers as well.

Here's an example of the pollen spread sheet https://www.dropbox.com/s/voawtyfsiiizdxk/Pollen%20spreadsheet.xls?dl=0

of course i'm sure they could be improved upon.

I can't recall seeing one or not, but if you havn't you should throw together a video of you collecting pollen and subjecting it into the other flowers.

D3, I am bummed but I have had no luck.  I just got one Inca Berry cross to pop.  I originally didn't have the seeds on a heating pad.  I put them on the pad on 1/24 and I have had no changes.  I do have a few seeds left of each of the two crosses, so I will try them.  I am very sorry that I have thus far been a seed killer.  I hope to do better with the remaining seeds and I will put them on the heat from the start.  I am keeping the other seeds on the mat as well, just in case one wants to pop late.

Hey mate you were right, they are turning red now:

Nice, they look fairly decent sized too. Can't wait until you do a review on one. Looks like they could be medium walled. Hopefully they taste ok. Of course F2 could taste completely different not to mention not even look the same. They remind me of the old fashion outdoor xmas lights.

Did some rush watering before heading into work. Didn't get a lot of pictures as I was pressed for time. Some the plants where a little angry from drying out.

It's about time I start to split some plants up. I need more lights or some new t5 bulbs

Couldn't capture how wide this plant was. It's going to be a beast by the time I plant it out

Aji Pineapple X Butch T yellow

Finally got my first decent pod off the Carbonero X Butch T yellow.

Quick taste test as I was heading out the door

Heat was surprisingly mild. Low end habanero. First impression was very watery and crunchy. Sweet but light smell of scorp, initial taste of grassyness immediately followed by a fruity bubblegum flavor that washed back and forth between fruit and grassy. Roof of the mouth burn... and the cut on my tongue when I bite it yesterday.

Only had 4 decent healthy looking seeds in it. Virtually no placenta.

These four babies are looking good. 100% germ rate and growing well.

Different story on the Baha Goat x Butch T. I went 0-4 there.
