Datil's 2017 - Nagaland, Mexico and beyond

Thought it was about time to start my first ever glog here :)
I'm very lazy and too busy to update it properly but i'll do my best.
This year i'm making an extra effort to keep the list tight and grow what i really like taste-wise, just a couple 'experiments'.

Here's what i've sowed so far (some seedlings already up):

- Myanmar Naga (landrace Burmese Naga pheno courtesy of Grant/JungleRain)
- Bih Jolokia Improved Light Green (originally from Frontal Agritech, courtesy of Chris Phillips)
- Yellow Bhut (scored on THP i forgot from whom... hoping is a true to form gnarly pheno or it will meet the axe LOL)
- Bhut Jolokia CPI (original release courtesy of Chris Phillips)
- Sonoran Chiltepin (wild landrace by narom8)
- Tamaulipas Chiltepin (landrace by Gary/windchicken)
- Chilito de Simojovel (landrace pequin from Peter/semillas)
- Forbing Naga (Red Nagabrain off-pheno by Gary/windchicken - see his thread)
- Madballz 7 2012 ('vintage' seeds by meatfreak, hope they will make it)
- Armageddon (originally from Vladan/Rainbow Chili Seeds, courtesy of Bjarne the BOC guy)

- Florida Wild Bird (OW)
- Bhut Jolokia OM (OW - from the dreaded italian OrtoMio brand, purchased as a live plant surprisingly true to form)

I may add or ditch something but the list will remain short this year :)
A special thanks to every THP brother that sent me seeds in the last years. I realized that it make no more sense to me to accumulate shitloads of them. Stock get old and loose viability sadly so i will probably make a list and gift to who's interested and have entire fields to dedicate...
I'll drop some pics later.

Thanks for reading

Datil

Hey, Fabrizio - good to see you glogging.  I'm looking
forward to seeing your grow develop.

We made a quick trip to Italy last Fall.  Had a wonderful
time.  You have a country full of beautiful cities and
countryside.  Here are some pics if you are interested:

Good fortune your way this season!

Hey Paul,

thanks for stopping by!
Nice to see you in our old country, you made some very representative and well done shots.
Between main cities Venice is my favorite for sure, mainly for atmosphere and... no car traffic :)
I'm more a countryside and mountain guy though, you should visit the Alps sooner or later!
If you ever will be in NW Italy let me know, you will be welcome to my humble house :)

Be well

You are most kind, Fabrizio.

I agree Venice is so beautiful.  I thought rural Tuscany
and Umbria were beautiful, as well.  Italy is a big
country - lots to see!

We are thinking about going to Spain in the next
couple of years, and definitely want to see more
of Italy while we're in EU.  Would love to see the
NW part.

Yesterday i've checked the germinator box and repotted some stuff. Seedlings are mostly ok but ever slow growing because of the cold basement.
Killed a suffering Bih Jolokia LG (i've 3 left).
No luck on Madballz still, 2/2 Armageddon though! :)
Received more seeds from friends (LOL), i've no more space but i've decided to sow more and make a brutal selection soon (some superior seedling are already showing).
So i added:

- Impact (supposedly Bhut x c. galapagoense cross by Vladan, seems 'just' a killer bhut - courtesy of the amazing Spicegeist)
- Shabu shabu (should be the real chinese landrace this time - courtesy of Floricole)
- Pimenta Lisa F4 (courtesy of meatfreak)

Pics soon!

   Sowing more seeds - you've got it bad, my friend!
Good luck with those.  Very interesting  galapagoense cross.
Looking forward to seeing how that turns out...

Cheers Paul :)
Outdoors space is limited so only the very best specimens will see the sun, i'm just giving a fair chance to all the good stuff :D
Spicegeist's Impact was really nice in the past season (see his thread) but it showed no galapagoense traits at all to be honest, an excellent bhut type and worth a try anyway!

Time for a little photo update!

Myanmar Naga

already needs a repot (notice leaves yellowing), roots started to exit form the bottom holes :)

CPI Bhut

Yellow Bhut twins

Armageddon, badass wannabe

Forbing Naga twins, fast growers

Chilito de Simojovel

Tamaulipas chiltepin

A VERY thirsty Sonoran Chiltepin, notice how fast/tall is growing

Oaxan Jewel tom

Group shot

Also in the germinator:

- Shabu Shabu 2/2
- Pimenta Lisa F4 2/2
- Impact 3/4

No luck from old Madballz seeds...

The weather is very warm for the period (70F daytime, 45F at night) so I'm about to move the oldest seedlings to a small plastic greenhouse and you will see outdoors shots soon :)

Thanks for watching!

Fabrizio

Those plants are looking great, Fabrizio.
Some unique, to me, varieties in your grow,
will be fun to watch this develop.

What do you polish the leaves with?

:D

I second the very nice plants Fabrizio!

And going outside soon is a bonus.

Wishing you continued success!

Thank you Paul!
Soap and a bit of elbow grease is enough for shiny leaves LOL :D

Many thanks Scott!
Moving out now is a bit of a gamble but i'll keep some backups indoors :)

Most excellent results Fabrizio... don't stop whatever you're doing!
Thanks Rick!
Coldish basement, cheap potting soil and very little tap water seems enough :) i've learned a couple tricks but nothing special, really...
I'm a K.I.S.S. believer :D
Good genetics always shine!
