DF 2020 Glog

Will we get warm weather and all the snow melts then we get another dump of snow and deep freeze, then it warms up and back down again etc.. etc..

First seeds to start. :D

When aphids start to proliferate I take them to the shower, warm the water to a neutral temperature, then spray them off thoroughly with the shower head.  It seems to do a good and often lasting job of knocking them back.  But then again, my aphids here don't seem to be as crazy tough as yours.

Hate seeing what you're dealing with.

Didn’t really like to see those pics, Neil.

At this point, a soil drench with some NEEM
oil might help, especially since we are so far
from Spring. When they start pumping out the
live young like those, the NEEM can interrupt
the feeding and molting cycles.

Good luck, buddy.

Hi Neil,

So sorry about the Aphids, they really do suck...literally! I stopped bringing OW's into the shop, where I start my plants for exactly that reason. For the first time none during the indoor portion of my grow. ANd I never have luck with OW's anyway. New starts always seem to do better for me.
I do see them in the garden, usually later in the season. The ants manage them, so I attack both. I use Terro for the ants, it's a Boron, sugar based solution. I also hose them off with a pretty vigorous water spray, and then treat with Ferti-lome triple action. That stuff both works, and has never hurt the plants. I just keep young ones out of the direct sun if I can. AND, I have throw plants away when they piss me off enough. Queen of Hearts action (Off with their head!).

Good luck and happy growing ;)

Seems like you are having a heck
of a season so far, Neil.

Really hoping to see things looking
up for you, my friend.

Aphids seem to be a meme on the
forum so far this season.
