I am really enjoying this thread. Ill be starting some letttuce/kale/spinach like this soon.

Dealing with the Aphids, did a soak in soapy water for over an hour yesterday and this morning their back in force :(  did pull in and out to try and disloged them and remove any air pupples but did not stop them.

Aphids - get a bottle of rubbing alchol, put a sprayer nozzle in it, and spray them, underside of leaves too.

Works for cacti. Never tried it with a pepper plant.

The isopropel will work.

Use the neem, if that is what you prefer.

Best of luck killing the little buggers.

Got isopropel, gonna wait for the neem to get here first :)

Wow, the pumpkin hab was infested! That first picture is cringeworthy. Looks much better after. Hopefully, you struck a major blow in the war against aphids.

Yuck...soaking the whole plant in water will kill them. Never tried alcohol. If not I know if you soak them in alcohol then light them on fire it will work for sure.

Jeez, I'm not sure even that would eliminate DF's mutant aphids.  Might have to nuke the entire site from orbit - if you really want to be sure.

Seriously though, I feel for you DF with the infestation and hope you can get it quieted and get back to growing happy healthy plants..

This is one of the main critiques that I have with growing methods that are "further from nature"

Dragonsfire might want to try mixing the peppers in with an equal amount of catnip plants, and then planting some sacrificial nasturtiums elsewhere in the same room

I have lots of catnip plants outside but the one inside on the porch is not coming back. Been trying to find Scarificial plants for a while.
Thanks!
