After my DD brought home a female water spider the diameter of a soup can from camp, most smaller spiders don't bother me any more.
Well... Wolf Spiders will always bother me.

Those large spiders are all Orb Weavers, completly harmless and dont bite...

Not saying you should pick one up, you'd probably injure it but it would not hurt you.

I like watching spiders weave webs at night, its pretty damn impressive. We have been in our pool before and been looking back at the deck with the house lights behind it, and there one will be bouncing around in a octagen shaped motion making his web stronger. Around here it seems like if you knock one down, they will just rebuild it the next day.
