Outstanding Doc. Keep up the good work.

I already think I'll be up to my eyeballs in powder and dried pods by the end of the year with my measly 50 plants, but you have tons and tons more than I do. I hope you have a lot of recipes to try out this year.

Holy tinkle doc!! Lol. You ate definitely in full swing, and that dehydrator is workin overtime! Does it take longer since you are running like 14 trays?? How long does it take for those to dry??

Thanks, Jeff. I don't know if I would call 50 plants "measly." I would call it just about right. 135 is way too many! But I wasn't counting on all of them to survive! Oh well, yes, lots of recipes to try out this year! Thanks for stopping in!

I previously ran eight and it would take about three days at 115F. This is the first time with 14. I've looked a couple of times and it seems like they are drying on the same time course, so we will see. Thanks for stopping in and for the kind words!

Wow. Just wow.

I found that the Jimmy Nardellos are not particularly good when they are still green, but taste is always a personal thing and you may not mind it so much. When they are green they are more bitter than an average green bell pepper.

The Aribibi Gustanito is also looking great. I have not grown a lot of white peppers, but I remember reading that it is common for them to be more of an off yellow than a true white.

Thanks, Stefan. I'm blessed with climate. The only "biblical" weather I get is biblical heat. Its 100F today and it will rarely get below 95 for the rest of the summer and many days will be over 100. Chiles like that, it seems.

Thanks for the info on the Jimmys. I'll give one a try a bit later and see what they are like. Maybe they would be good cooked in with some bitter greens?

I'm smiling at your comment about the Aribibi. These aren't off yellow, they're bright yellow. Sunglasses bright! :cool:

Stefan, while I was putting things away, I snapped a pic of the ripe Aribibi Gusanitos.

While I was at it, I took a couple of more pics. Gnarly first pod on one of the Sepia Serpent plants. The other pods forming have the "normal" phenotype. Not this one. :cool:

My HP22Bs are a flop as far as phenotype goes (so far), but not my Primos:

Finally, I took a trip to the 99 Cents Only store. Occasionally, they have some nice stuff for a buck. I found eight of these airtight decorative jars. Perfect for chile powder! Don't mind the blue tape labels. One of these days I'll sit down and make some real labels.

Man, that Sepia is definitely wrinkled up like my pug.

Yeah, I guess that is more than a little off white. You never know with pictures and colours, but I can see what you are talking about.

Yeah, that Sepia Serpent scares me. I haven't cut it yet. A black hole will open in my house.

I understand what you are saying about pictures and colors. Trust me when I say that they are actually more yellow than they appear in the pic.

Thanks Dave, and thanks for stopping in! You are going to have ripe pods, and lots of them, soon enough! In my climate I was lucky enough to be able to start in October, greenhouse it over the winter, then have the plants outdoors fulltime by like mid-February, IIRC.

Nice pull and pod porn Doc. It looks like you've got enough powders to last you until your next harvest and then some. Now that you have powders dialed in, perhaps the next frontier is making sauces?

Maybe it's perspective, but it looks like a lot of your pods are coming out smaller... maybe because of the heat?

Thanks Rick. I've got a few ideas floating around for sauces, but haven't gotten there just yet. It is definitely what I have planned for the tiny peppers, like the wilds and such. Speaking of tiny peppers, there are some that are smaller, but I think those are some of the earlier pods that are just now ripening. They seem to be mostly seedless, as well. The unripe pods on those same plants are mostly the expected size.

The AGs are definitely hot and tasty. The plant has a great decorative stance, as well.

Astounding grow, pulls, pods, powders and dehydrator is :dance:

ambitious! Also, love the OR attire! First time I made a bhut sauce--puree first--I put on snorkel gear (not fins)--other half was "What the hell . . ." and then the aroma hit my beloved, out door, gone a rather long while. Hmm. You did or didn't say you were de-seeding before dehydrating? Yeah, take lid off grinder too soon, or one misstep and uh . . . live/learn. Operative, "live." Beautiful here!!

Thanks for the kind words, Annie. The pods are deseeded. A whole lot of work, but worth it in the end. Yes, the operative word is definitely "live."

Great story about your other half. The first time I tried to make a sauce a similar thing happened to both my wife and me. "Live/learn" again. :cool:

Wow Doc Brent a 14 tray dehydrator, amazing … IIRC mine only goes to 12. What temps do you run at for your colors? I vary between 125 for a few hours and then clock it back to 95 for the finishing touch and the red, yellow and greens hold good but I’m always looking for better info to improve my powder.

I have never seen such a bearded leaf or that hairy, is that from the plant or bugs? The white flies here don’t leave that look, more white with little black dots under the white powder. If you let it go too long it turns yellowish with that sappy stuff they produce, I’m on top of them here year round, lot of work :/

Close up shots of pods & quarter are crisp, very nice job! I also love the 99¢ jars, I’ll have to keep an eye out for dem. Funny how you use the tack tape (painters tape) to label stuff, I do the same for long time now, lol.

Everything else looks great mon! Your harvest, pics & powder are kicking it to the point of awesomeness ^_^

Thanks, Ramon. The dehydrator I have came with six trays, I believe, but is expandable to 30! 14 is enough (12 is enough, really).

Anything beyond deseeding 10 trays of chiles is just work. For temps, I set mine at 115F and leave it for the duration, usually 3 to 4 days. If I set it at 95 it would be like air conditioning during the day.

Our highs have been over 100 this past weekend/week.

The "beard" is from the whitefly, themselves. We get the "giant whitefly" out here, and this is what it does to protect itself from predators, etc. At least it makes it easy for me to spot the involved leaves.

Thank you, kind sir! I has been, and continues to be, a lot of effort to keep things going. Even when I don't have that much to do in the yard, I can easily kill a weekend doing it. I'm sure you know the feeling.

Good to know about the GWH. I'm still unclear whether the GWH and the 7 Pot White are the same. GA Growhead has both going this year, so we will see! Probably like the TSMB vs. Brain, or the HP22B vs. Primo.

I got the plant from Spankycolts last year; this plant is from that plant's seed, OP.
I have two of them going. Would be nice to see some more stinger pods. I do
have more seed from those pods, if that's not the case.
