Favorite Cooking Shows?

I don't usually have much time to dedicate to shows regularly, but I'll have to check some of these out. I can always watch Chopped. Beat Bobby Flay is pretty good too. BBQ pit masters is also pretty good.

I've been watching a lot of "Froog" lately - since I mentioned him the other day. I remember watching his show every weekend with my family when I was a kid. His show seems pretty tame by today's "foodie" standards, but back in the '80s it was pretty cutting edge.
Something I never noticed when I was a kid is how every episode of his show was shot in one take. No editing whatsoever. You gotta give the dude props for that. He was jumping for the half hour that the camera was on.

Drink every time Jeff says "you see"!

^ I used to watch him all the time, too, although I wasn't still a kid then!

My favorite is Floyd on Food-  Hilarious!  He was usually sauced by the end of the episode.

Also liked Two Fat Ladies.

I've been watching some Keith Floyd episodes while prepping for our dinner.  This is a classic one...skip to about minute 23 for some epic original Drunken Chef.

My first cooking show was Jeff Smith, The Frugal Gourmet. He may have gotten me into food at first. As for the creepy thing I read that he had a thing for little boys. Yea, creepy.

Used to love watching Natalie Dupree on PBS. She would make an ungodly mess out of whatever it was, put it under the counter and pull out a perfect dish that someone else must have made.

Galloping Gourmet still makes me laugh. They don't let people that messed up on tv anymore.

Today I record Mind of a Chef. The photography is beautiful. Have seen all the Altons but can still learn from them. And although I turned my nose up at her when younger, Martha knows her shit. I have yet to use one of her recipes that didn't work perfectly. (I did try to learn to fold a fitted sheet from her and gave up in complete frustration)

If you like Mind of a Chef, Chef's Table is worth the time (only a handful of ep's, though) ...

I especially like the Massimo episode ...

Not a serious cooking show, but when you're drunk, it is pretty funny.

Hmmm no one mentioned my favorite, Anthony Bourdain... Maybe his don't count as a cooking shows, because they are combination travel/cooking/drinking shows.

I like him and Zimmerman's shows !!!!!
