favorite Favorite Fish/Kelp Fert?

i use fish meal and crab meal and kelp meal from kelp4less if that helps.

I've been using the Fertrell brand that CCN sells for a few years and have had good success with it. They have a kelp and fish and a fish and kelp fert. Had never used fish/kelp before until they recommended it so bought a gallon of each and like it. I don't know how other brands smell but I don't find the smell that unpleasant on either of the Fertrell but maybe that's just me lol.

I agree with Jedisushi06
Kelp4Less is an excellent place with a great selection and FREE shipping. Also the Meals are more economically priced than the liquids, but they do have a Liquid Fish Hydrolysate/Seaweed blend available.
Personally I like there Mycorrhizae products better than (RTI-Xtreme Mykos) there Liquid Gold product has basically replaced Fish Hydrolysate for me (& it smells better too) and the price on there Kelp Meal (there flagship product) is Fantastic.

Where do you find Myco, Kelp, Fish&Kelp blend, etc. products cheaper (please let me know)
There prices are much better than the Very Inflated retail prices @ the local Grow stores around here.

A friend on another forum who is the most knowledgeable grower I have ever spoken with.
I'll ask him again why he said that.
I do know that kelp4less was selling bogus kelp years back and got caught and changed to a better product. It's my understanding that the Acadian kelp is the best and it's what I buy.

"Their pricing would be at the top of the list - it's beyond delusional. Beyond that they aren't as transparent as they could be describing their products and in particular their kelp meal.

In the world of marine algae (i.e. seaweed, kelp, etc.) there are 3 categories - brown, green and red. The only type you want to use in your gardens is brown kelp because it contains 2 very important compounds that are only found in brown kelp. No other plant on earth, including red or green kelp, produces these compounds - alginic acid and fucoidan."

hmmmm... I had never heard this before (I guess,now I've got me some more learnin' 2 do)

My plants seem to like the green Kelp meal I use, but now I want to do a side by side comparison with brown Kelp.

I would tend to concurr with the pricing comment, at least from my own past research.

If you are trying to stay organic then I would be wary of Kellogg as they use biosolids in many of their soils so I am not sure about their other products.

Biosolids meaning treated sewage sludge? Kind of gross, but if its treated(and safe) and helps fight waste, I might be inclined to be OK with it. . .

Are you sure it's safe? Just remember that medicines people take comes out in their stool and if the biosolids are not composted correctly then you could be getting those things in your soil.
I personally wouldn't use it but to each their own. I make my own soil.
