First (and small) harvest of the year

Well, I got more hungarian wax peppers than anything, they seem to be maturing faster than my other plants.
So, lots of wax peppers, two poblanos, two giant macaroni peppers, and the wee little red thing is a Portugal (?)
No idea where the portugal came from, it was a gift from a family member, but it's fairly hot and has a nice sweet fruity taste up front.
Hopefully I'll have better porn in a week or so, my habs are ripening nicely.

congrats on the harvest, but those hungarian wax chiles do ripen to some redish (well at least the ones I grew years ago had some red to them, not all red just some)

Old habit of mine, I usually pick the first batch at that point and use them for tacos or something. I think it has more to do with the overwhelming desire to have a few fresh peppers after not having any all winter. :)

Some of my habs are finally turning orange and tasty looking, I'll try to update this as things develop.

good looking harvest...are you hungarian wax hot...I sure do like the taste of them...

I admit I keep swiping green Spanish Spice peppers from my garden. I'm addicted to them. They're 9-10" long and plants produce a lot. They're really hard to beat when it comes to a frying type pepper!

Hi Skydiver,

Nice to see someone from western PA on here. I'm from New Castle originally but, as you can tell, I do get around. Happy growing! ;)

Aug 5 Update

More starting to ripen. The Habs are very sweet, taste like apples almost, and the heat is wonderful.

I think I am finally going to buy a digital camera. Phone pics stink for quality, and film is just too slow.

Cayenne update

My Portugal peppers I planted in the ground vs pots are finally yeilding some ripe pods.
Surprised at how big they are. Kinda medium-ish heat, but really sweet and fruity right up front.

Sorry for the low quality of the pics, my plans to get a digital camera have been derailed by a two thousand dollar fender bender.
