I have a question about the Black Naga plant I used to cross with. Here is a photo from last year. The peppers in the cup are from my Black Naga plant. However, I'm not sure they are Black Naga, they look a little too smooth. I know it's hard to tell, but do you think this is a Black Naga?

Hi Helldozer,

sorry but your Black Naga does not look the real thing so you should maybe rename your cross naming it "NOT Black Naga" as some people do.
Here's a couple Black Naga shots (a small pod) from a couple seasons ago:

I'm VERY fond in bhuts/nagas :)

Best of luck for your season

Peppers, peppers, and more peppers. :) Actually, here is my list:

Could you tell us a bit more about the Australian Atomic Top End? Never heard of it before

I don't know much about it. I had someone send some to me one time, as an extra. All I know is that they said it was a "tree," and kind of looked similar to maybe a bird pepper....buy larger.

Excellent job on those raised beds. How much did that set you back for materials and dirt ?

Thank you, appreciate it. If I recall, it was about $120 total, for the metal. About $180 for the cedar posts. I don't remember the cost for the planks, they weren't too much...maybe $50? The dirt was a veggie mix from a local place....at about $38-ish a cubic yard.....so about $600 for the dirt.

The veggie mix consists of mushroom compost, pine something compost, sand, cotton husks...etc. First time using it, so I hope it's good enough.

I also cut down some crape myrtle trees and laid them at the very bottom of the beds, as well as added a couple of inches of mulch to the top to rotate in, to keep the dirt rich over time.

A few updates....

Because I didn't want to try and connect to my existing irrigation system, I just rigged up a quick connect for the garden hose.

One of the valves in one bed. I only had a 4 spout connector, but it worked out well. I can use one of the extras if I decided to connect a hose to it for some reason or other. The split is for the cucumbers, since they require more water.

Mexican Gherkin on the Left, and Tasty King Cucumber on the Right. The lower leaves turned yellow, shortly after planting and I'm not sure why.

moving that dirt and planting them seeds must allow one to save money on  gym memberships :P

Haha. Yes! Dear Lord, it took a few days to move it all....I don't want to do that again.....EVER!
