For some reason, fish stories always end up bigger than they actually are ;) I should know

You prob got bonefish down theyre in the bahamas you ever catch any of those?

I got your fish story right here...

Thanx TB for steppin it up a notch, fishing in ALaska that must have been fun and cold, you got some serious weight theyre bub, i'm guessing u used a fly rod? did you eat the fish? nice work TB thanx for posting.

AJ how big was the boat u were in when u caught the saw? cut bait?

Fishing pics where are you? I wanna see some fish caught in Australia and all parts of the world

Well we have tons of bonefish here but fishing for them is done mostly by tourists for sport.
When I go out I usually go for grouper, snapper (maily yellowtail and mutton, lane) ocassionaly tuna or Dolphin if the waether is calm enough to go out that far.
Also go out on the weekends for my favorite, the queen conch to make a fresh salad on the beach.
Will have to take some pics and make up some whale tales the next time I go out lol

I wish I could say those two fish were caught on flyrods but alas....Kenai Special rods/Abu Garcia 6500 reels loaded with 12 pound Maxima pulling Mag Wiggle Warts in about 100 foot of water. I wish I could say I also caught those fish too....I was the guide.

WEdnesday Sight Fishing Snook
Figured i'd update this alittle,
Went out to Pine Island Sound with my father to track some bait. It didn't take long at all till we were one some big bait.

(This photo is the sheet)
Then we went to the North end of Bokeelia just off the beaches, Water during the winter down here gets crystal clear. We Saw like 6 Black tip sharks today about 5 footers close to boat. Ended landing a few snook
all under slot, I really enjoy sight fishing a little frustrating sometimes though.
IMG00471.jpg

This one was just under slot and a shrimp boat was anchored near us and said they wanted it and didnt care that it was too small soo they got em.
Ended up gettin some gator, mullet and shrimp for lunch with a few yuengling's.
Headed out hit a spot we heard had some big snook, ended up landin a slot snook 30inch
IMG00473.jpg

It was a good thing we had some distance from the mangroves cuz this guy was bolting towards the groves, i was able to get on the troller motor and take us away from the mangroves. Got some nice fillets off this guy and will cook tommorow night. We were only using 30lb leaders with a little extra length on the leader to counteract the clear water. was a great time can't wat to do it again!

Good one for keepin' this here thread alive Nate! Very nice lookin' snook. Dude, you gotta' post up some pics of that snook on 'da grill!

"Tonight is da night" - Redman
Trying to figure how i wanna cook the snook tonight on the grill. I'm thinkin i might use some of the smoked powder chris sent me. Still Unsure any ideas are welcome.(and fish stories)
Headin out tommorow morning early try an get some bigger ones hopefully a few reds too.

Just got back home form hittin the water at 7:15 am I'm Beat but i gota get ready for a hockey game tonight EVERBLADES yeah!. ANyways We caught some nice size bait, at the east mouth. The Water was very murky today winds must have been stirring the water up no big deal we still were killin the snook today unfortunately no slot snook but we were bring ing 27 inch all day long one more inch just one more inch all day long. There were alot of jack's in the shallow water slammin our bait hard. We actually saw a big manataray jump out of the water twice close to our boat was pretty cool never seen that before. On a lite note I almost had my rod taken into the water while un hooking a Jack and my father was joking about losing the rod. I'm not supposed to talk about somethign else happening same thing as before but it hsappend to him:) again but was funny. dad called me a little bit later he said last stop he cauht a slot snook 30 inch.

almost forgot to post the eats.
IMG00477.jpg
