Flavours of the Caribbean (Mainly)

Thought it was about time I put on blog on here as requested by a good friend Gary (wind chicken).
I got to know Gary having done a seed trade over 2 years ago via fb, and have always admired his growing.
As title says most of my grow will be bonnets as I love Caribbean cuisine especially Jerk chicken, curry goat etc.

I started some rocotos quite early as I know they take forever to ripen..

First time I've ever grown rocoto and pleased with progress so far.

Will make a proper grow list when I receive the p.dreadie select seeds kindly sent by Gary and one I'm pleased to have as a memory to Erin.

Another one already up and waiting to be potted on is Carrot Jolokia which I was kindly sent by Ben (bpiela), took ages to sprout a hook, but got one in the end.

Just waiting on a few stubborn bonnets to show hooks before finalizing what's a keeper.

Plants looking good Sim. That's cool your growing the Bonda Mahala. That's one of Gary's pride and joy. I have seeds for next year. It was to late to start this year. I have his Forbing Naga. Another favorite of his. He is a very kind individual. Very knowledgeable as well. Can't wait to see it get color.

Good job!

Gary sent me seeds 3 seasons ago Chuck, beautiful cross and superb looking pods. I like the story behind it, and will be in my grow every year.

Very, very nice! I'm very impressed by the Hainan Yellow Lantern. Terrific color and absolutely covered in beautiful pods. What a great surprise! Fantastic work!

Updates been slow as I feel we have stood still last 6 weeks with wet and overcast weather. May and June plants we're flying.

However few pods ripening up and bringing some colour in the polytunnel.

Happy growing.

Hi Sim!

Been about traveling along the East coast, enjoying the cooler weather up there!

I see things are going well your way. Nice looking plant, and pods coloring up. Ya sure can't beat that! Congrats on the Zapotec Jal and the Bonda Mahala ;)

I feel ya with the 6 week holding pattern. I'm there :shh:  Ug, 4-5 more weeks before I see some real action :P

I too am a calmag fan. I'm wondering how you apply it? I grow a bhut load of maters, along with too many peppers..LOL. The maters would all have BER if it wasn't for the Calmag, it works so much better for me if I apply it via a foilar application.

Keep it green buddy!
