For all you yankees freezing your balls off....

well moyboy, I can admit thats ALOT of snow! & very cool!
though I could find fun with all that snow in the form of skiiing or snowmobiling. snow is not that bad unless you have to shovel it by hand, they make snowblowers & snow plows ;)

another thing to consider is colder temps you dont recieve much snow! its too cold for it to snow, warmer temps get far more snow than colder temps!
in my lifetime I've never seen a snowstorm like what you show, though theres records of storms like that about a century ago.

snow depths like that are more related to the rockies folks not us in the colder temps.

again you make it seem like snow is really bad, you should enjoy it once in your life & you'll findout snow is not so evil. you can have a blast with snow!!

I'd beat my head against the wall if we got that kind of snow & sold my snowmobile months earlier! (kinda doing it earlier cuz I sold it & recieve some decent snow this year but winter is winding down cuz snow is melting for now temps will be in the 32F+ for at least 1 week)

& look those folks on their swing in a shirt & shorts enjoying a beer, now it seems like cold weather doesn't bother them !

Chilehunter.....I don't think snow is bad I just am not used to it as I have never had to deal with it....EVER...

I can and have live in temps that have been in excess of 45C for weeks on end and the temp never drops below 28C through the day even in winter....

You know what you know (temp wise) and I know what i know......that's not bad...It's just different countries and different conditions

CH, I hope you realize I wasn't trying to do a "pros/cons" thing about the cold weather...I just said I can't handle it...thats just me...and just as you love the cold, I love the heat...I am sure it has a lot to do with what you are acclimated to...being born on the gulf coast and never living for any significant period of time north of the red river, I am just not used to it...

Currently saying 60% of state is in flood with more to come. Many places have had more than a metre of rain this week.

None down this way

heck Bent...this is two years in a row for you guys isn't it?...is the drought over?

yeah lol - up north its regular - monsoon season or "The Wet" as they call it. Seems its heading further south each year.

I'm sure some parts of Oz are still in drought...basically its the top 1/3 under water & bottom 1/3 in heatwave.

gotcha...it looks like we are in for a dry year so far...we have had no measureable rainfall since december 1st and our lake levels are decreasing daily...most of them down about 2 meters and that is not good for this time of year when they should be at full pool...most of the water we get here in north texas comes from large reservoirs (25K plus acres). Did you know that there is only one natural lake in the whole state of texas? That is Caddo over on the Louisiana line and was formed from an earthquake eons ago. The rest of the lakes/reservoirs are all man made...

Email only send it was in Quebec City........Not sure if this is right.....and not sure when it was taken.....

I just can't imagine that much snow........I have only ever seen snow once in my life and it was only a few inches on the ground........

this is just WOW to me....

I don't like the heat, but I don't like it that cold either...

I've seen snow like that before....in Utah we got 7 feet of it once. Fun, fun, fun. In fact just to show you how unimportant we who lived in the Airman's base housing were, the base didn't plow our roads or dig us out until AFTER they cleared off the jogging trail. That was 3 and a half days later.

I know what you meant, just like many people here move down south for the winter BUT they come back home to colder climates once winter is over.

I just found it funny how some people here were acting like king shit & so proud of their hot temps.

so when ya get bit by a poisonous snake/spider, or be in severe drought, or loose a leg to a croc/shark, or your location is hit by a hurricane or huge wildfires (fire season) or earthquake, severe icestorms or rainstorms, etc......

I guess this will come in handy  :P

Hey now, who's acting

And about 3 of those apply here lol: creatures, drought and excess of awesomeness. Yeah it's true, some people are overwhelmed by how sheerly badass Texas is. When they've had too much they head north........

Lol I actually was just trolling when I started this thread, we were out of things to argue about.

Predictions are for a rough w/end with temps expected in the high 40's. Saying western N.S.W will be hotter than Sahara tomorrow. Good luck everyone.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to it......They are predicting 47 C in my area tomorrow and Sunday..........

I'm melting just thinking about it....
