So we've got ANOTHER cold front coming through right now....temps around 60 degrees, a nice stiff NW wind, and it's supposed to drop into the freakin 20's tonight. YAY!

Yesterday afternoon, we still had 4-6" of snow from a storm last week that was snow, then sleet, followed by freezing rain and another four inches of snow. Then last evening, we got hit by what they are called a "snow bomb" were we got about 7-8 more inches in just over three hours. The temps dropped to 2F with wind chills in the double negative digits - Fahrenheit. It's suppose to make it up to 21F today but with the wind chill, it will be in the low single digits.

And this is Cincinnati, where the average high at this time of the year is 40 degrees.

I can't complain too much even when its cold, since we've had so much sunshine lately, and we're supposed to go above freezing again by the end of the week:)

As long as we don't get any heavy rainfall before this snow melts, I won't mind. It's great for the soil when it melts slowly and seeps into the ground. Even better would be a hard freeze after that.

Mike

agreed I hate the pouring rain this time of year. It pools up on top of the snow floods my yard and heads towards the well around my basement windows

I live on a hill and dont mind the rain. I love snow though, here in TN we dont get much but I originate from Detroit and I miss snow.

looks like spring is trying to come to north Texas. All I can say is bring it on...

We had snow the other day and it's taken ages to melt, it's hardly anything really but us English people can't cope with it, even our railways shut because it's the wrong type of snow.

I saw that on the news the other day that you brit's recieved some several inches of snow. I thought this was normal for you, though finding out you really dont get snow, now I understand why it shut down some parts of the city.

I also had no clue as to WTF the couple brit's were saying on the news! I saw the lips moving & heard the voice but could NOT understand them!

Hmmm, next week forecast-27, 28, 29, 30, 34, 37...

Gee it sucks its not snowing right now.

geee you make it sound like those temps are so great
after looking at a rough C - F chart anything over 22C is too HOT & shitty weather IMO!

BUT if you really want to play the game of pro's vs con's of living in a colder location vs a hotter location. I'm all for it!! cuz most likely the hotter locations will have more strikes against them while all you really have on colder locations is - cold & snow - FYI snow is not that bad ;) I agree extreme cold sucks but so does really HOT weather!!

if living in cold weather really sucks & is unbearable, PLEASE explain as to why MILLIONS of people stay living in cold weather climates ? they have every means to leave & live elsewhere! though they stay ! so it cant be that bad ;)

so for shit's & giggles do you want to play the pro's vs con's of living in cold climate's vs hotter climate's (I choose not to use the word temperate cuz some might consider it as mild/not extreme temps though hot temps are extreme to some!)
I have a feeling colder temps would prevail! since all you have against it is cold temps/snow & short growing season (not saying much if you ask me!) while the list can be damn near endless against hotter locations!

I can think of roughly 15 while so far you have 3, lets play !

this is just WOW to me....

I don't like the heat, but I don't like it that cold either...
