for you aussies

Bread and Butter pudding is gorgeous but I like it without sultanas, I made it at school once and it turned out being a swimming pool of milk with a few floats of bread bobbing on top.

 its got to have heaps of strawberry jam spread on the underside of the bread too!

Heheh, the next you know we'll be dicussing Mincemeat Pie. ;)

(which is also tasty)

I may be in the USA, but I grew up Canadian w/ very old-school parents...thus my eclectic tastes.

Habanero Perogies, anyone?

Less odd doesn't mean normal! :)

In the end, taste decides! Peanut butter and cucumber doesn't sound bad to me, but I doubt that I would've come up with this "recipe" myself!

About ten years ago I had a craving for a peanut butter and cucumber so I put it in a sandwich, strange I know but it was really nice. If you like marmite/vegemite (you can get that can't you Chiliac?) and peanut butter then you must try them both on bread, put the marmite on first then peanut butter, the crunchy one if possible. It sounds really pukey but it's great IMO. I used to eat chocolate spread with peanut butter too but that's not odd, I think :eh:

Doesn't sound pukey at all to me! Well, as you said, I can't get vegemite here, but I think I got an idea of what it tastes like. I'd love to try it, but the few merchants I found that sell it do so at ridiculously high prices, as if it was liquid gold! :(

Wow, I just assumed you'd be able to buy it there in a supermarket. For the people that love it though I'm not surprised they're selling it like liquid gold, but I can understand people who hate it as well because I did until I was a teenager. It tastes a bit like a beef stock cube kinda thing (hard to explain).

Hmmm... maybe I'll invest some money in a jar of it at some point (unaffordable atm) or ask sbd to bring it over if I get a visitor from the UK again - that wouldn't be before fall though. You made me even more curious now! I'm sure I'd like the stuff!

I know this came up in AJ's thread but I felt I was hi-jacking it. I haven't seen Jalapenos or Habs in the UK shops, I found out that I can get Nagas from one of the Indian take-away outlets though, I haven't bought any yet as I prefer my Scotch Bonnets. Sorry to go off topic on this thread too.

And I'm glad you kept that promise! :) You're a great gal and it's fun chattin' with you - too bad you have deserted the "listening" thread recently... ;)
I miss you there!
