Nicely done GIP! Is the Sugar Rush Cream a hot or sweet chile? Any plans for what you'll do with all that heat?

the sugar rush cream is very sweet and juicy, almost refreshing. Yet it has some heat, it's not like a sting or a throat burn, more of just mouth glow.
i wouldn't offer it to someone who cant handle heat as it has a little bite to it.

the rest of these may never make it into the house :drooling:  i may just enjoy snacking on them in the garden
nice sweet little treat with a bit of heat for while tending the pepper plants :D

@stickman, as for plans with all this heat...
i plan to dry and powder some, as usual.
Will be making more sauces this year, also i will hopefully get the chance to trade for some that i am not growing :)

Cool... y'know, it looks a bit like an Almapaprika. I wonder if it's related. You should have plenty of powder after the season you're having. Keep up the good work!

I tried some more peppers i had never tasted before today

How was it ?

It was good.
initial impression was a very slight chinense aroma upon cutting it.  It had nice crunch, and was a little bit juicy. the flavor initially reminds me of Grenada Seasoning pepper (another not hot Chinense) it's thicker and less fragrant than Grenada seasoning though. It has a barely detectable tiniest amount of heat in the placental tissue only, and even then, just barely. The after taste is hard to identify, but pleasant. flavor left in the mouth almost reminds me of a ripe yellow Manzano.
i enjoy these an am fortunate to have had the opportunity to grow them. They are tasty fresh, would make a good addition to a salad,  would be great stuffed, and would probably be nice sauced too.

now the Jobito x Bubblegum7's;

How was it ?

Deceiving !
upon initially cutting it, it smelled just like the Jobito, maybe just slightly more chinense fragrance. once i tasted it though...
:flamethrower:
Wow! this is a hot one!  it was initially slightly sweet, followed immediately by extreme heat. at which point i was no longer able to discern subtle flavors, but just overwhelmed with :hot: and had to wait nearly 20  minutes before going back for the other half, and doing that to myself again.
i can tell you, it taste HOT!
It was enough to cause me to salivate a lot, and begin to sweat a bit, but not hot enough for hiccups.
I  am not sure if it's hotter than the large yellow bubblegum i grew last year and overwintered, or if it just seems to be as it was the hottest pod i have eaten so far this year.

i intended to try the Red phenotype of this cross today as well, but honestly i was a little scared after eating the yellow one
it has been a couple of hours and still no Cap cramps, so i may go ahead and eat it after dinner, otherwise i'll try it tomorrow.

My opinion of the aji Jobito x Bubblegum7 (yellow phenotype) it's really :hot:  with less fragrance than other yellow bubblegums ive had. sweet at first, immediately followed by a blast furnace of heat that lasted about 20 minutes. i think this will be great added to sauces, and will probably make a tasty :hot: pepper powder as well.
I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to grow out and sample this cross. I am curious as to how the red phenotype will compare, and look forward to trying that as well.

Lots of different pods are starting to color up now, so there should be more updates and many pod pics in the next couple of days :)

thanks for stopping by

Great reviews and fantastic looking peppers! How awesome that your Jobito x BBG7 turned yellow. I got a couple of red pods of this cross last year from fiogga and saved seed, but I didn't plant any this year. After your review, I'm thinking I will add it my garden next year. Great job!

-Adam

EDIT: When she sent me the sfrb, it was so fully packed with great pods that by the time I decided to try the Jobito x BBG7, it was looking not-so-good. So I never tried it but saved the seed.
