Nice to see things seriously coloring up for you. Great review of the Jobito-BBG7 cross. What sort of thing do you cook with your pods when they ripen?
It depends on the type really
I like to stuff peppers with various things, i really like grilled peppers, some of the sweeter ones never make it in the house and get eaten while i'm out in the garden :D
With the really hot ones i usually dry them and make powders for use in and on lots of food, I have been trying to find ways to use them in sauces without making them insanely Hot (what i consider HOT is not the same as most of my friends and family )

also i make a couple different pepper jelly's (still trying to get a state fair blue ribbon in pepper jelly :) )

as for the Garden, there are so many more pods ripening up  , I really need to take more pictures.
Going to have lots to harvest over the next couple weeks

thanks for stopping by to look at the garden,

Very nice GIP!

Some just awesome poddage there! What's a 7JPdN?
7 pot Jonah x Pimenta de Neyde;

08.14.16%207JPdN%20type%203_zpsqqnxcq2d.jpg

these look nearly identical to the pod i saved seeds from.  I'll refer to this as type 1

08.14.16%207JPdN%20type%203%201_zps3jtjsnpm.jpg

These are shaped slightly different than the pod i took the seeds from, but they ripen from dark to a sort of burnt orangeish just like type 1 and the original pod i got my seeds from

now this next one has me stumped

08.14.16%207JPdN%20type%203%205_zpskw3n6jd5.jpg

again, seeds from the same pod. However this one has green foliage, and the pods ripen from green to lightly blushed with purple, then this bright yellow color
the texture of the skin is the same as the other two

is anyone else growing 7JPdN? What do yours look like ? ( I will be saving seeds from all 3 of these even though i find type 1 to be far more productive)

on a different note i finally picked the conjoined twin 7 pot Burgundy pods...
(left them on just a bit to long, oops. oh well there are plenty more that will be ripening over the next week or two)

Heh... I can see that. :P

I'm still working on that one too. Jelly making is harder than it looks.

as you can see, though they are not very big, they are rather dense like most Pubescens are

09.04.16%20Pineapple%20Rocoto%20cut%20pic_zpsyhzjcf9w.jpg

Cut pic you can see that it is quite juicy :)

What did i think of it..?

My first Pineapple Rocoto and i found it to initially have less fragrance than i though it would. It did have a scent, but it wasn't that strong.
Initially, first thing i noticed was how incredibly juicy it was, just squirts with each chew, which then causes you to salivate as well.
It's Hot and it's heat comes on all at once. It's not incredibly hot or anything, but hot enough i would prefer eating it with food :)
I found the heat to remain mostly on the back of the tongue, top back of the mouth, and top of the throat, none down the throat and barely any on the lips, tip of the tongue, or front of the mouth.
The flavor I would say is subtle, it has more fruitiness than other yellow pubescens I've tried, but it's hard to place. Apricot like maybe ?
I like it enough that i will look forward to growing them again. and feel that i will better be able to describe my opinion on them after trying them with food.

thanks for looking at my garden :)
