off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

Good morning THP

Tues 9:30pm forecast said we would be cold and dry, no concerns snow would make it to our area.....Of course, 3" by Wed 4pm.

Looks like about 5" now this morning.....garden beds, trees, heck, everything looks nice all covered in snow.

Stay warm out there, I know some have it far worse than we do.

Good morning. Been raining all night. Suppose to rain all day. Weird this time of year. Should be snow. I'm not complaining. Hope you have a awesome day. You all rock!

Jason. See what the boy gets for Christmas 24in. His first geared machine. We will have great times.

Good morning to you all. We'll be getting OCD's rain soon, turning to snow and Arctic Blast temps. Three fires still flaming (seen on the news), pretty rare in winter, but it's very dry.

Holiday boxes are finally all sent and the Dakin Farms one arrived yesterday (the one with VT maple syrup!).  So life is much less stressful.

Happy Friday. Enjoy the day and share your laughter.

Wohoo! I get to climb in the snow today! I kind of wish it wasn't in a 60 year old ginkgo that got struck by lightning twice in the same month a few years ago, but whatever. I have mitochondria and a chainsaw to keep me warm. I love winter. Bring it!
Good morning. It's the best way to start a great day.
Don't forget the hedges.

   I love how that dude has his hands on the steering wheel. As though that's going to do something.  :banghead:
But I feel that dude's pain. My lawn has a bigass privet hedge on three sides. I have been tempted to try something like that ^. My tactic is to just hold an electric hedge trimmer and get a good running start. My extension cord budget is insane
But seriously that tree I climbed this morning was a fucking monster. Biggest ginkgo I've ever seen. Only about 75' tall, but easily 6' dbh. But it was completely hollow and the top 2/3 of crown was almost entirely dead. Most of the bigger lateral branches (8"-20" diameter) were hollow too. Just a menace.
The only things holding this tree up were an 8' lag bolt and some steel cable. I almost lost my hand saw while probing one of the bigger tear out cavities. If I had had another hand saw I could've played all the hollow spots like fucking xylophone. When I finally bombed out of the thing I would've paused to kiss the ground, but I just ran because I was afraid it was going to fall over on me.
I'm glad to be back on solid ground. I'm off to the Friday thread.  :metal:
