OK ...
I'm going to start calling it a comeback ...
I'm ready to do my next grow.
I'm positive I know what I did wrong last time, so I'm going to give it a go again in the next months and do something very differently ...
First of all, I'm going to grow the plants in the shade, under my carport, using the reflected light from the bright white coat my neighbor has on the wall of her house directly N. of my new grow space.
If I think supplemental lighting will improve things, I'll add lighting - it's not that expensive anymore ...
I'm going to solve the 1st major problem I had growing before, not automating my watering system ...
I *need* to do this, as my work schedule is demanding in ways that plants in the sun didn't survive here in Florida ...
Also, it's a fun programming project, which is cool, I guess ...
I've been following this guy since the first month he posted this thing. (

he's a nut, my kind of guy really ...
I'll probably by floats and bags from him, to support him. (

I'll definitely be doing AACT, from the start, and I'm going to be growing from seed this time for control (and because two of the things I want to grow most, are only in seed - JHP's Mystery Wine and my Shop Foreman's mysteriously awesome little orange pepper) ...
While I get setup, and change around my carport to have area for gardening and BBQ "pit", though, I need to order some SFRB of peppers and do some projects w/ fermenting and canning and otherwise processing pods ...
I was overflowing w/ pods, and we spent time just picking and washing them, but ultimately threw away half, and dried a quarter, and ate at most, 15% ... it was much ado about nothing' ... really.
So, while I'm starting them from seed, I'll be trying some new stuff, so that I'm already prepared for what needs to be done when the pods start flowing ...
I'd still like to try some stuff I've had in mind for a while, which might be pretty cool ... we'll see.
Last time I found it more frustrating than it was worth, and ultimately let the garden die off (to the BLS and predators and virii etc) ...
Now, though, the Topsy Turvy's have moved to a new home w/ my friend, who is growing veggies out of them happily, and I'm looking at a blank canvas and the time of year where it's cool out and I have a little bit of free time for a change ...
