Green Vs Red Jalapeno Peppers

In regards to heat, Im wondering if as the plant matures, so does the heat, even though theirs fruit earlier. Anybody else find the you plants dont have heat?

 
I grew several different types of Jals last year and I had the same problem with a few plants that seem to have little or no heat at all.  I only have 3 plants this year and I'm still waiting for some ripe pods to see there heat level.

Well Im sticking to the El Jefe, they have been consistent

There are certainly multiple factors but Early and M's have been consistently hot for me over the years. Some may have been milder but i dont ever remember getting any that were duds.
