The photo has revealed some aphids inside the flower... :mad:

Okay, buddy, they are finally here!  It is so great to see some sunny days,
The next 10 days look perfect, sunny and 70's!  You better get the restraints
on those pepper plants - they are going to take off!

Some varieties don't like the heat. I've had know problems with Lemon drops, Goat Weed, Chiltepin, Jalapeño or most other Annuum's. I've had some Chinese flower drop, not all, but some. That's normal. It stays in the mid 90's until September. I hoping the shade cloth and added humidity will combat the dry heat. If you look at where some of these varieties originate from, they have the same heat, but hella humid.

It depends on the plant and growing conditions.  Most of my guys do fine into the low 100s, so long as they have shade when nuclear fireball is directly overhead.  Most of my baccatum have a gazillion pods of assorted sizes, and plenty of flowers too.  It's 108 today, headed for ~114. Here's hoping the flowers don't all drop...
 
I think soil temperature has a lot to do with flower drop.  My Wallybag plants enjoy evaporative cooling of their roots and tend to produce quite a bit more in the hot summer months.

It's holding its own in the 100° heat, now under the shade cloth. Not in the best spot for pics, but too heavy to drag around ;)

That's what I'm talking about. That sucker will produce some pods. You should be able to keep that growing year round. Nothing like going straight to the garden for fresh chiles while cooking. Mine last year spit out flowers into November, until frost got them.
