Ours was Zatarain's Reds & Rice tonight, but real cooking tomorrow. Wheebz, c'mon now, just because you're not with peeps today doesn't mean you can't cook better for yourself. Slap a steak under the broiler if you don't have a grill, sauteé some shrimps or scallops, brine some chicken thighs in buttermilk then roll them in panko and pop them in the oven.....
But yeah, this from a chick for whom popcorn, a slice of pepperjack cheese and an apple is a perfectly fine meal from time to time! LOL
 
BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS!!!

I'm repairing the landing gear on my US Army Dehavilland Beaver after a shitty landing yesterday. Still drinking rum and DDP. Took a container of peach habs soaked in lemon juice/sea salt/garlic powder to my mom's...to make her dried, unseasoned turkey edible.

I'm thankful for all of you chileheads, especially the drunken ones.

Did Thanksgiving with the in-laws today. Stuffed pork chops. Not so traditional, but was ok considering it had no heat. I already had my turkey sandwiches since the wife roasted one on Tuesday.

The real Thanksgiving meal comes today. Bird is brining away. Smoking a 12 pound bird on some orange wood with some freshly ground pods and fresh herbs rubbed on, stuffing with some freshly ground Joe E. Parker powder (my wife asked why it was so red), mashed potatoes and gravy, and the sourdough starter is bubbling away on the counter ready to make some sourdough dinner rolls. Pics to follow if I don't get too drunk. If you don't see them here, tune in to the drunken chef topic. I hope your shopping went well!

what kind of flavor does the orange wood impart? never tried that one before.
