I love all of them so I would suggest to you "grow them all"!!

Unfortunately due to poor planning on my part my grow room is quite full. I used 10 gallon smart pots (pretty stupid for first year plants) and I started them in late October so they're already decently large and growing fast. I have a 600W HID. I could definitely accommodate another 3 but I could make room for another 5 or 6 which will really max out my space. Which strains would you put at the top of the list?

First of all they are all worthy of growing... But to ween out the list to only a few is really going to be whats more productive...
1 Bahamian Goat Pepper
2 Scorpion (Chocolate)
3 7 Pod Yellow (Large)
4 Bhut (Peach)
This way you have 4 different varieties for the last bit of plants you want to add...

That looks like a mighty fine list. The Giant Yellow Bhut comes from Joyners Hot Peppers'. I don't know how stable it is but last year it was just a massive, ultra pructive, BAD ASS plant. I'd very much like to give it a go and hope for the same results.

The 4 you listed plus the Giant Yellow has all the markings of an awesome season! Any other suggestions?

Sounds good Captain with adding the giant yellow Bhut... Is there any significance to a regular bhut? I grew two red bhuts this past season and only got three pods off of the two plants... So im really hoping for some early poddage from the overwintered plants...

I'm relatively new to growing. The red bhut was the first super hot which I ever grew. The first year it grew to 5'+ and produced roughly 200-250 pods. It's now a 3rd year plant and is as thick as a tree. Well, maybe not that thick but massive none the less.

I'm emotionally attached to the plant plus it puts out a huge number of quality pods.

The Giant Yellow Bhut was a first last year, it was supposed to be a Giant Red Bhut. So I can only assume my previous season allowed a Yellow Bhut and the Giant Red Bhut to kick on the Barry White and do that little dance. If they grow true again this year and are Giant Yellow Bhuts, I'll be just as happy as CC!

Also, I had 2 plants and must have pulled 10 pounds of pods.

Great list. Try Habenero Peach or bonda ma jacques

They both look like really cool strains, particularly the Bonda Ma Jacques. I might have to get some of those seeds.

I'd definitely like at add another chocolate variety. How does the choc scorpion stack up against the choc bhut? I'm going to grow at least one of them if not both. Any thoughts? How productive is the choc scorp? I've never eaten a choc scorp. How do they taste? How hot are they?

Grow the blue ones they're the prettiest.

I actually have some Platinum Scorpion seeds which are even prettier. The plant is loaded with solid platinum pods. The branches need a lot of support to avoid breaking. The pods REALLY shine in the sun. They're good if you need to make an extra buck or two but as they're rock hard they're almost impossible to eat.

If anyone has any Uranium Scorpion seeds I'd like to trade. I know that the radiation is rather unhealthy but as they glow in the dark I'm willing to sacrifice my health.

Platinum peppers sound very cool! Too bad you can't eat 'em. You do realize I was funnin' with you right? I don't understand why people ask for advice on what pepper to plant for themselves without adding a bit more to the question. Are you looking for a particular flavor? Specific heat range? Early to produce? In my opinion the easiest way to choose what to plant is figuring out what you want to do with it after it's grown. You figure that out and I bet you can come to a decision pretty quick.

Best of luck.

In your opinion what strain of jalapeno is "best"?

They are all so similar, so I recommend going to a farmers market and getting some from them for seeds. This way you will have a strain that is adapted to your climate and is sure to produce. People that sell stuff at farmers markets need to make profit, they don't have time to fiddle with strains that don't produce a lot.

I like to grow exotic stuff, however it is nice to have a few plants that produce lots of "easy to eat food." I cant say, purple Jala, biker b's, Giant's etc because the point is getting a strain that works for your hardiness zone. Same story with Tomatoes or any other plant you grow for food.
