Hi fellow growers!

Hello all,

My name is Greg. Beaker is the name of my Moluccan Cockatoo. For those of you who don't know anything about parrots, Beaker can eat a whole Habanero like an apple and want a second. Its not so easy for me, but I still love them. A Serrano is a light snack for her :)

I became a hot food addict from hanging around with people from Africa and South America in college (hot and spicy isn't a well known flavor in Minnesota :) ), and about ten years ago when I found out that my bird loved hot peppers, I started growing them on my deck. Now I'm an addicted grower.

One thing led to another and now I'm totally obsessed with gardening. I had a small grow room in my basement with two 600 watt HPS lights, which I've now torn down to expand to a 10x15 room. I've been doing ebb & flo tables in there for a couple years, growing all kinds of different vegetables, and even some catnip for our cats!

I grow habaneros, serranos, jalapenos, anchos, and bells in my outdoor garden every year. After a few moments reading the grow forum here I've realized that I have been missing the boat in terms of varieties I should be trying.

I hope to spend some time hanging our here and sharing and learning with the other avid gardeners!

welcome to the boards to the both of you. birds can't really taste the heat can they? my mom has a birdfeeder in her backyard and these squirrels keep getting into it. one day she bought some additive made with pepper extract to keep the squirrels away..didn't really work though.
