Antilles fire and another MoA are popping up.  Chocolate Fatalii hasn't improved.  Curly Q Peach bhut has been potted up.

Got a HBJ hanging its head.  Leaves look like they're drying a bit.  It has moisture in the soil.  Don't think it is dampening.  Not sure.  Pics to come after I make some lunch.

Chicken Quesadilla with a tomatillo sauce for lunch.

HBJ, With all the tomatillos we are growing this year, we should come up with a shelf stable recipe for some good tomatillo salsa.

I'm thinking the base should be tomatilo, green 'penos, onion and garlic. Some green supers to kick it up a notch. I think Judy will be coming out with an Evergreen 7 pot soon.

Hey, your HBJ looks better than one of my white bhuts. I looked at it last night and it was all dried and crusty.

I was hoping for a tomatillo based sauce this year, and perhaps a ground cherry sauce if I like them.

Onions and garlic for sure.

Don't think it would have to have a green pepper in it as it won't take too many supers to heat up a batch of 8 half pints or so.

There is a tartness to these tomatlillos that isn't quite pleasant to my taste.  Tomorrow I will be doing a cooked version of the rest to see if I can mellow it out a bit. Nice tartness, just need to tone it down a bit.

It took 18 days, but two more MoA are up as is the one Antilles Fire.  Leaves me with just two varieties not popping up.  Cardi and Yellow DT.

My Jaques I tried to germ behind the woodstove now has 5 seeds in the dirt with one already hooking.  Going to have too many Jaques this year the way it looks, but I like them and can experiment with sauces if these all make it to the garden.

Yeah, roast those tomatillos, they caramelize very well. A little smoke on 'em is good too.

Just with a little oil in a CI???

I'm not sure either, but I hope it doesn't end up like mine. We had a small funeral tonight for the lost one.

Maybe pull it away from teh light a bit and see if it perks up. I have had plants that just got too much light.

The odd thing is it was like that this morning after a night with no light.  The lights are now off until morning.  I checked the stem a bit below the soil level and it all looks good.

The only thing I can come up with is root damage, but it has been potted up for a while now.  It even has a pair of trues on it after the pot up.

Yeah Jeff, I think that plant damped off. Scrape away some soil around the base and see it there is a darkened area of the stem/root at or just below the surface. Another potential are fungus gnat larvae have severed the tap root, but they don't usually cause sudden death just slow/irregular growth as they eat the roots away underneath. Either way I would call that plant a goner, get it away from your other plants and move on.
