for-sale Hot pepper fudge for sale

One person was going to try melting some and coating apples with it. I haven't yet heard back from her on how that turned out.

I made iced tea with some. I melted some in the boiling water as a (spicy hot) sweetener. I'm still unsure if I like it or not. Mixed with a little vodka over ice, it is very reminiscent of a white Russian.

I am temporarily out of stock. Should have more by mid-week next week at the latest.

Heard back from the candy apple experimenters. They melted some (in a microwave or stove top, I don't know; both will work) and drizzled it over slices of Granny Smith apples. Said it was pretty good.

Have two new batches, one flavored vanilla orange and one flavored cherry vanilla. Both are fairly spicy, but not outrageously so.

I've tried a few different sales and shipping options, but for now have settled on this. Pay $7.20 for a SFRB and $1 per ounce for however much you want up to two pounds. That's about how much will fit in a SFRB.

After about 20 batches I've been getting consistent, repeatable results for the last five or so. Increasing the batch size from five pounds to ten to fifteen has helped a lot.

Have all the "t"s crossed and "i"s dotted with respect to state and federal regulations, label approved, and multiple flavors in stock.  Vanilla orange, Cherry Vanilla, Hazelnut Coffee, and Maple.

Will post some pics here in a few days, but in the meantime, you can see what the vanilla orange looks like on eBay.

Get a better deal here, $1/ounce (4 oz increments), plus a flat rate $5 for shipping for any quantity.  Will mix and match flavors in 4 oz units.

Thanks for looking.

Its getting a little headway now, nothing but the stars to shoot for now. One taste and your good to go.

Thanks, Donnie.  The texture and consistency is a lot smoother now than it was for some of the earlier batches you tried.

Got mine ordered via PM.  Money goes out tomorrow.  Can't wait!
Thanks, Pugs. According to USPS Informed Delivery, your payment is scheduled to arrive this afternoon.  I'll get your package headed your way tomorrow at the latest.

This thread needs a little color, so here's a lo-res image of the front labels for the flavors I have in stock.

That's all for now.

Great flavors to begin with. Vanilla orange should be called Creamsicle.

Where da spicy one?

I just looked it up and it turns out "Creamsicle" is a registered trademark. I do like the idea of having referential(?) instead of explicitly descriptive names. I almost called the one "Maple Carbonere" because a little scorching in the bottom of the kettle gives it a little stronger caramel flavor than planned. (Nevertheless, or maybe for that reason, that flavor has gotten the best response from taste testers.)

Present stock has either 65 milligrams (CV, HC) or 75 milligrams (VO, M) of my own hot pepper powder blend per bar. (See my ghost pepper plants/seeds ad for pics of the peppers in the powder.) It seems to be hot enough for most; too hot for many, not hot enough for a few.

Next time in the kitchen, I think I'll make one kettle with double that amount of powder and one kettle with none at all.

PS - Gotta sell some of this existing stock to afford ingredients for the next batches... hint, hint.

Thanks, Pugsley. I'm boxing yours up right now. (I'm a multitasker like that. Drinking a cup of tea, too.)

Can I ask which ones are all natural and if it is 100% real maple syrup or sugar used? I may be interested :)

Here's a pic of the actual product:

Left to right are hazelnut coffee, maple, vanilla orange, and cherry vanilla.  Except for the hazelnut coffee, there's not any consistent correlation between color and flavor.  Color is much more dependent on the processing parameters (rate of heating and final temperature.)

Thanks, Chris. Not sure how I missed this yesterday.

In case anyone has tried the eBay link up above lately, you probably noticed it no longer works. I relisted the product with all available flavors. The new listing is here:

Still get a better deal here. One pound for $20, USPS small flat rate box shipping included. Mix and match flavors in 1/4 pound units. It's not really practical for me to ship less than a pound until I ship enough packages to get commercial rates.

I'll honor that offer even after the SFRB price goes up to $7.90 later this month. In case you didn't know, all USPS rates are going up on Jan 27th. First class stamps will be 55¢.
