How bad are the Mosquitos where you are ?

The mosquitoes at my house are really bad also,  we have similar properties, my back property line runs into a park about 500 acres of woods and a creek, i can't go outside at all without bites, even in the sunlight, if i go back by the woods in the shade or dark, you'll have 10 on you in a few seconds.  If it keeps up like last year once the peppers get 3 feet + and have a full canopy I won't be able to walk in them without long clothes or bug spray on.  I hate that part of pepper growing.

South Carolina = Bad mosquitos.....but compared to Louisiana in the 100+ summer heat after a rain (humid as glue), that equals a vampyric onslaught from the very pits of hell!!

Neighbor guy - a bird watcher- had multiple water baths (code name for stagnant water mosquito breeding pools!!) so I always got it really bad. Mom said, 'They like you because your 'sweet'..  I detest skeeter's with a passion.

Up here in my part of Wisconsin, the little flying vampires haven't been much of a bother yet....yet. I'm certain our cooler temps at night are keeping them away for now. My brother did go fishing out in the boondocks a couple weeks ago and said if he didn't have his OFF, he'd be drained of blood.

When I worked in Louisiana there were 3 types of mosquitoes.  The ones that hung out around the screen door waiting for you to come out.  The skinny one's that would squeeze through the screen and the armor plated ones that just opened the door and came on in.

Almost none up in NW Wyoming. When I lived in Alaska, that was a whole other issue. Even y'all in the south have no idea what bad mosquitoes are.

Most the ones by my work are the damn asian tiger mosquitoes. Big nasty suckers. This one was so full of blood it could barely fly (just killed it a few seconds ago)

Flies are really bad this year too, especially the biting ones. Hell even gnats. Just a bad year for flying biting insects all around.

The Canadian AirForce  is crazy right now after  a weekend of drizzle and then warm days.   I was using the blue sportsman deep woods off 30% DEET  Monday night  and they weren't impressed at all.

I just read something about a replacement for DEET they are working on at a uni in Cali,  we can only hope , because I hate the smell of it. Had to have shower as soon as I came inside to get the stench off of me.

I find the deep woods off wipes aren't nearly as offensive smelling as the spray, though still warrants a shower. I actually prefer them now and keep some in my go bag.

There are really bad here as well. We are surrounded by trees and a creek runs around the property about 200' from te house. It doesn't matter what time of day you go out too. If I walk out into the garden even to pick 1 peoper off of a plant, I will walk out with bites.
We've had so much rain here too, which just makes it worse. I treated the yard once with some spray but I'm sure it's washed away by now. And it's piuring here right now...again. This past weekend was the first weekend since April we didn't have rain. Fml
