Whoa, sprouts in the mail? That's awesome! How were those packaged? Was the paper towel inside the tube?
 
Pile some more dirt on there, so they have more support for the stem and then bigger root ball area to start. Glad I could help since you said you couldn't get any to pop for you.
 
Yeah, bury them up to their necks. And you might as well put them in separate cups sooner than later. They look great for coming in the mail!
 
Adding more dirt now, thanks for the tip and the sprouts. Pash, the paper towel was dampened and put in the tube then wrapped in bubble wrap and mailed in an envelope. Worked perfectly!
