HURRICANE SANDY.... how are ya'll doing....

The good news is an article I read said the hotel owner was not honoring the reservations. But there are thousands of hotels so...... yeah.

Unlike the DoubleTree, turning victims away:

"Those marathon rooms were booked months ago," said Karen Yam, a desk clerk at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Metropolitan on Lexington Avenue in midtown Manhattan. About 60 to 70 of the property’s 775 rooms will be occupied by people in town for the race, she said. "It’s been very difficult and frustrating to turn people down from downtown and the suburbs."

If you don't fault the hotel (they are doing their job), fault the mayor! No marathon, no reservations.

Bloomberg has done some really weird shctuff since his time in office, but good or bad, this is what he'll be remembered for.
Nice to read that the one runner is not running in protest.

UHHHG!!!!!

Bloomberg says resources will not be diverted by the marathon. Today, runners quarters are being set up in Central Park. Know what runners quarters are? Temporary housing powered by industrial generators. WTF?! Why aren't they setting these up in the disaster areas?! FU Bloomberg. FU!

Okay I won 't rant.

I can totally predict Bloomberg's speech/excuse:

"in NYC we forge ahead undaunted - just like in the aftermath of 9-11, we won't let a disaster deter the Marathon. It's symbolic of the people of this city and blah blah blah"

Mark my words.

What a douchebag.

Yes, he is trying be be Giuliani, who told us to go to Broadway shows, and shop. We were showing the terrorists they could not change our lifestyle. The difference here is, there is nothing to prove to Sandy! But he is too dense to see that.

just like they said in SVP...(espn radio).. if it were for a team we could cheer for (when the SAINTS kicked ATLs butt) that could unite us.. like it did after KATRINA...
but if its people we dont know. dont care.. not even from our neck of the woods...postpone.. like THP said...

[background=rgb(255, 244, 228)]i think we need to have to look at how we run our cities/country[/background]

Talk about being kicked in the teeth when you're down. I hope the media runs with the hotel thing cause I have yet to hear that part of the argument. From this, to the guy not letting the chick stranded with 2 kids into his house, I'm speechless.
Wish I was the Santa Clause of cock punches cause I'd be making a list and checking it twice. God bless all those effected and all those who are or have sacrificed in the name of humanity.

No heat no electricity and I was able to leave my house for the first time this morning to come to work. I am a NJ state employee and was supposed to go yesterday but couldn't get off my street this all the wires and trees down. There are trees on top of transformers that are all in the street. My next door neighbors on both sides of me had huge oak trees fall. One fell on the street the other on their house. My city has only two crews doing clean up. One taking trees off of houses. The clearing the streets. Also, there is no gas. I had to sit in line for an hour to fill up my car at 3:00 am. It's really bad here in Jersey

You too. Stay safe. Loading up my phone and laptops while I'm at work so we can at least watch movies. And Bloomberg is a total asswipe. But we knew that. It's horrible because just getting around NYC is damn near impossible. Not to mention getting into the city.

Oh and now we brace for a nor'easter

Just one of these could power a whole block.

Glad the marathon was postponed. Now pondering the upcoming election - can't really get behind any of them.
