I do all the time and they are usually saying stuff like do ya got a quarter or holding a sign by the freeway

Did I hear you say Pirate! We refer to beards as "flavor saver's". Never know when that next meal may come about, so we've got to get a morsel wherever possible...nesting bugs are a huge bonus!
