yeah the fallow keeps its spots..

They are a pretty cool little deer to hunt.

We also have Red deer and Sambar Deer in the colder states aswell, but it costs lots or money to hunt them...:(

Well, I woke up in a pool of sweat just now. I figured I'd jump on here:lol:. I've heard of Red Deer before, but not that Sambar. I have time to kill now. I think I'll hit a search on it. Also, I'm VERY fortunate when I hunt whitetail deer. I think I spend something like 15 bucks per kill tag and I can hunt 10 minutes from my house. There's another area I like to hunt about 45 minutes from here, and another about 3 from here. Just depends on the atmosphere I want. My wife and I applied for a public land doe tag as well. You can take either a buck or doe with a bow in bowseason and that's what I do. Whichever pretty much is descent size and offers a nice shot. Kind of nice to have the same option during firearm season too. I enjoy both, but I'm more of a bowhunter myself. I have a hard enough time with a compound, but if I get a ton of time to practice in the future I would enjoy making my own longbow with homemade cedar arrows and giving an attempt at it after quite a bit of practice.

I envy you rabbit. Would be so cool to do that only a few minutes from home.

I can hunt most things about 2 hours away from my place, but have been known to travel 10 hours to get to some really good land in the middle of the country.

I mostly shoot. Only really target lately as gun laws have made it hard in australia. I have 1 Australian championship trophy and 2 NSW state trophies. and countless postion awards.

And i hold 1 Australia record that has stood for 10 years.

*head now swollen too unmanageable size*

anyway. This has just given me an idea for another thread....

More to come..

Yeah, I heard about the gunlaws a while ago. That really sucks. However, you're still out there doing what you love though. That's still good. I realize I'm actually very lucky when it comes to hunting and shooting. I never competed in shooting, but I have a couple friends that compete in archery competitions. I did however do ALOT of shooting in the military. Then again, when you were infantry that's not hard to do:lol:. I was the first to respond to your other thread too. Sounds like we've got alot in common.:)
